Hi Cam,

How are you doing? I hope that you have a wonderful day today! :sunny:

I am good, Tracey, thanks for asking! :goodvibes:

It is about 5:50 and I have been very on track today, especially since I stuffed myself with zero point foods -- salad, cut up tomatoes, steamed green beans.

Now I have to go to WW WI and face the scale for the first time in 2 weeks. The last time I was there was when I had the nasty encounter with the WI lady and I wasn't able to bring myself to go last week. I don't expect a loss but I am not going to let that get me down and I am not going anywhere near the scale that that woman weighs in at. I am hoping it is a good meeting topic tonight. I could use some inspiration.

I will probably take some soy crisps with me in my bag to nosh on after the meeting and hopefully hold me over until my workout is done (assuming I can haul my butt to the gym after my WW meeting).

I did my 60 minutes walking last night and tonight I am supposed to do 40 minutes of cross-training. I am thinking I will probably take a book and ride the recumbent bike for as long as I can. It is actually somewhat relaxing for me and I get to READ! I can really use some decompression time since the rest of the work week will be crazy.

COUNTDOWN TO DISNEYLAND 1/2 MARATHON RECAP:
37 days to go
13.2 pounds to lose (up 1.0 from yesterday-- sodium last night & eating too late. Ugh!)
Total APs so far in August 22

Food plan for today:
B: protein muffin (2); 1/2 WW yogurt (.5); coffee w/creamer (1)
L: tomatoes w/1 oz mozzarella & olive oil (3); green salad (dry) w/grilled chicken (4)
S: soy crisps (2)
D: flat wrap (2); soy burger (3) w/onions & tomatoes & 1 sl FF ch (.5)
Dessert: light popcorn (3); WW 2 pt bar (2)

Hi Cam,

How did your weight watchers meeting go? I hope it went well for you. :goodvibes You did a great job with your food choices yesterday! Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow! :grouphug:

COUNTDOWN TO DISNEYLAND 1/2 MARATHON RECAP:
36 days to go
12.3 pounds to lose (down .9 from yesterday) (moring weigh in)
Total APs so far in August as of this morning: 22

I think I am soon going to have to resign myself to the fact that there is no way I am going to lose 12.3 pounds in the next 5 weeks (especially when I start tapering for the 1/2 marathon). I am going to continue to keep the current goal in my countdown, but the reality is that I'd be so glad if I could lose 5 pounds less than that so that 7.3 is much more attainable.

Tracey -- Thank you so much for asking about my WW meeting. The meeting itself was fun and informative, though the weigh in -- UGH!

Of course, the worst part is the WI and it is always at the beginning, so that I want to leave, disappointed and sad, and go home and wallow. I waited to WI with my leader so as to avoid the other lady, but that did not save me from a "what is going on here?" question. I was embarassed and ashamed that I gained again from 2 weeks ago (1.2 pounds) and even though I told her that I just cannot seem to lose when I am training so much, the excuse sounded lame, even to me.

The reality is that I don't have a handle on my hunger OR on my appetite. If I were honest with myself (I am trying), I'd admit that I don't need to munch on snacks at night after dinner. I am eating dinners so late that there shouldn't even be time to squeeze in any snacks before bed. If I would just wait a while after dinner to allow my body to register that it has food, I probably wouldn't want/need anything more.

I am working on it. Yesterday was better, although I did still eat 2 snacks after a very early for me dinner -- light popcorn and a frozen WW 2 point bar. 5 points and I could have probably done with less. I really wanted a LC panini which would have been 6 or 7 points AFTER I'd already had those snacks (dratted TV commercials constantly make me hungry!), but I took myself off to bed to read.

Hoping tonight will be considerably more controlled.

Today's food:
B: protein muffin (2); coffee w/cream (2)
L(2:30) (very controlled trip to the salad bar when I was soo hungry): green salad (0); fruit (2); small pc of california roll (1); peas & piece of lettuce from caesar salad (1); soy crisps (2)
snack before gym: tab energy drink (0)
snack after gym: WW pretzel crisps (2)
Dinner: LC mushroom pizza (6); LC panini (5)

I did 8 miles at the gym tonight. Earned 8 APs that I haven't used and won't. Heading up to a cool bath with a good book.

ETA this from the weekly training thread:

I did my 8 mile LW tonight since I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get it in on Saturday at my aunt’s house. I almost totally bailed during the 5th mile because I started having charliehorses in my right calf and I had that very bad pain again on the top of my right foot on the left side. I have no idea what that is, but I think I am going to take a cool bath (I already took some advil). Here are my splits:
Mile 1 – 13:34
Mile 2—14:08
Mile 3 – 13:52
Mile 4 – 13:44
Mile 5 – 14:18
Mile 6 – 14:28
Mile 7 – 15:18
Mile 8 – 14:53
The avg pace for my first 4 miles (before a potty break) was 13:49. The pace for the last 4 miles was 14:44. Overall pace 14:17.
Oh, and I am so excited to report that I actually ran for 2 minutes at a stretch at least 4 times (all during the first 4 miles) and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Kind of exhilarating to be able to do that. Someday, I'll be able to run a mile!

Cam,
I saw your post about the 8 mile LW tonight. Wow! You are doing great. And I mean it. I sit here in awe that you are way past the halfway point to 13 miles. I just got in from doing 2 miles and it seems like I've got soooo far to go. Your dedication helps me stay focused that if I just stick with the training plan I will get there too.

Girl, you are right on track for that castle medal!

Thank you so much, Dena! How sweet of you! I cannot wait to cheer for you during your quest for the Donald!!

COUNTDOWN TO DISNEYLAND 1/2 MARATHON RECAP:
35 days to go
11.3 pounds to lose (down 1 from yesterday) (moring weigh in)
Total APs so far in August as of bedtime last night: 30

Food today:
B: 1 egg white on whole wheat toast (2); coffee w/skim milk (1)
S: WW yogurt (1)

I am trying to have a very low points day to prepare for a weekend where I'm certain I'll splurge a bit. Also, planning for lots of fruit and baby carrots in the car for snacks on our 6.5+ hour drive tonight. Will try to stock up on the same stuff for the ride home, too.

I am so excited about going to see my aunt and uncle this weekend. My aunt and I have always been really, really close and she has always been my #1 fan and supporter. She was always tuned in to the difficult relationship I had with my mother (she is my mother's sister) and even since my mother died, we've been able to have some very honest conversations about those struggles and how I can get past the first 40 years of my life to be the person I want to be without a lot of emotional baggage. I'm looking forward to a long walk with her to the beach tomorrow morning and going to church together on Sunday.

Have a great time this weekend and keep up the good work. I wish that I was going to th eDL half marathon. You will be great. I can't wait to hear all about it next month.

Hello Cam-
It looks like your training is going well! You will do a great job at the 1/2 and i cant wait to hear all about it ! Keep it up and have a great weeeknd!

COUNTDOWN TO DISNEYLAND 1/2 MARATHON RECAP:
32 days to go
11.3 pounds to lose (down 1.9 from yesterday) (morning weigh in)
Total APs so far in August as of bedtime last night: 45

Well, I should probably play catch-up, but don't have time right now. Through Friday night at bedtime, I had gone 3 days being below daily points. On Saturday I did great until dinner time when I ate fried seafood and had ice cream for dessert. On Sunday we had dessert mid-day (low cal but 2 servings) but then I munched in the car on reduced fat cheez-its (7.5 hours in the car can be boring!). I did a lot of things right, including NOT eating tastykakes all day Saturday along with everyone else (I ate watermelon instead) and on Sunday I didn't get McDonalds when DH and DD got chicken nuggets and french fries.
So, my weight this morning was the same as last Thursday morning.

I did 60 minutes on the treadmill last night at a 14:49 pace (4.05 miles total).

I am 83 days cheat free and hit 700 minutes of exercise this month as of last night.

Weight Watchers meeting tonight. Am hoping to drink lots of water today up until 3:30 and then none until after I weigh in. Am hoping to see a significant drop from last week.

Food today:
B (8:00): 2 slices whole wheat toast (1); 2 slices light turkey (1); coffee w/skim milk (1)
S (11:30): heart healthy oatmeal (3)
Lunch: green salad w/fat free feta (1) and kalamata olives (.5)

Sounds like you did really good while you were gone. PD enroute for your WI tonight!! :wizard:

32 days, does it seem like the time has FLOWN???? Your training is awesome so I'm sure you will do really really well!

Have a great week!

Thanks, Julie! It really does feel like the time has flown and I know it will now go fast forward over the next 4 weeks.

Having completed a 1/2 marathon, I should be more confident, but I do worry about my ability to sustain the required pace on unfamiliar terrain without my dear friend Rhonda doing it with me. I am going to just forge ahead and hope for the best. :cool1:

Hey Cam!

How did WI go tonight? :goodvibes Congratulations on being cheat free for 83 days! That is a wonderful accomplishment! You should be proud of yourself! :goodvibes I'm very proud of you!

Hope your Wednesday is a great one! :sunny:

Thanks, Tracey!
Well, I blew my cheat-free challenge yesterday and can't count it to bring me to 84. Today should be better.
Work was so outrageously stressful yesterday that when I finally got home after WW and had visited with a friend until almost 11, I had a carb binge of chips & pretzels (with no fat free chips around, so the points really added up. ).
I was down 1.4 at weigh in last night, but it seems pretty meaningless as continue to do the yo-yo thing.
In a down mood again, or maybe it's "still". Sooo much on my mind about getting DD ready to be dropped off to college this Friday. I feel like I should be home helping her to organize and pack and once again work demands mean I don't have the flexibility to do that. At least I'll be able to go with DH to drop her off on Friday and we will both be moving her into her permanent dorm next Wednesday night. In the interim, as she thinks of things she needs/forgot, I can gather it for her.

Hang in there, Cam!!

Stress is NOT conducive to good eating habits - (do ya think I have some experience with that, or what??)

You're still on the right road, just wrong side of the lane. You'll be back on track when things calm down a bit.

Congrats on the WI loss - anything is a plus!!

Have a good rest of the week and try to get some down time - I know, easier said than done!!

Hang in there Cam! you have been doing great! im sure it is getting crazy with DD getting ready for college (ugh! is it time for classes already?!)
I cant believe the 1/2 is so close! you have been doing such a great job and i cant wait to hear all about it!
