We went in November and didn't have any problems. Just about everyone we met were super nice and we felt very safe. Of course, I didn't leave anything of real value outside the camper except my crock pot. If anyone would steel that I would have been lost. I need my crock pot!
I did talk to a neighbor that his daughter had her bike taken from the bike rack near the marina. They found it a day later laying on the ground by the bus station near the Hoop de doo. I noticed a lot of bikes by the marina and I could see a child picking up the wrong bike. You might want to lock your bikes up if you are parking it someplace besides your camp site.
