Camping

We have camped at Fort Wilderness at least one a year since 2003. We usually go at Christmas and stay in our travel trailer. This year we have purchased a fifth wheel and now I can hardly wait for our Christmas trip.
The Fort offers many activities and is our favorite resort. You will find a Fort Wilderness section here on the Disboards that is probably the best resource for any questions that you may have.

This will be my first time ever at Disney World.
First time camping at Disney as well....
From the Youtube videos that I have watched, it sure looks fun! :)

My question for anyone who is familiar with Fort Wilderness, is can my partner drive into the campground to drop me and my tenting supplies off, and then return a few days later and drive back into the property again, to pick me up? Can I get a parking permit for our camper (which isn't staying) and use the parking permit, when they come back to get me?

Also, on the day that they drop me off, are they allowed to stay and visit for a few minutes, or must they drive out immediately?
Does the Disney staff check our vehicles to see how many people are riding in the camper?

thanks for any info. stacyful @ aol.com

I hope this will answer your questions. You may have up to 10 people per campsite. When you register you can list your partner and any other friends or family up to a total of 10, each person would receive a key to the world card which would allow them access to Fort Wilderness through the gates as well as other Fort Wilderness amenities such as the pool and extra magic hours. They will also issue you a parking permit which will cover parking.
This would allow your partner, friends and family access to Fort Wilderness and your campsite for the duration of your stay. Disney does not count the number of people riding in campers, however the limit of people at a campsite is 10 and you could be asked to have additional people leave.
Hope this answers your questions. I would recommend the forum on camping at the Fort for any additional questions you may have.
Enjoy your stay.
