Camping

I'm not sure there is a best, it's pretty much all good. We like being able to leave the crowds of the parks and come back to the Fort for some peace and quiet. We like sitting at the marina and watching fireworks. Looping in a golf cart and meeting new Fort friends is a plus.

There's a kindred spirit with campers and it's there at the Fort as well. We've had campers come out in a torrential rain storm to help us back into a tight site. They could have easily sat in their dry RV and not bother...but they did. Meeting new people is part of the experience. I don't think you get that at other resorts as easily.

Some like Hoop De Doo Review, others like Mickey's BBQ and others must do the campfire singalong. Taking hikes or riding bikes on the trails are always good.

I can go on and on and on...:lovestruc

If your question is whether Fort Wilderness is best or if there is an off-site campground that is better....well, most of on this forum are HUGE Fort Wilderness fans. There are less expensive campgrounds off site, but they are just campgrounds. Fort Wilderness is magical. Stay there once, and you'll find you always compare every campground from then on out to the Fort. It sets the bar unattainably high IMO.
