Just heard today they no longer have cabins in the 2100 loop :( We previously stayed in our RV in the 1100 loop and backed reasonably close to our daughters cabin in the 2100 loop. Has anyone stayed in either the 2200 or 2400 loops lately that know if there are cabins and preferred sites close to each other? We are worried about staying in loops separated by the main roads as young children are travelling on the trip.

from what I remember from august trip there was a main road that separated cabins and sites. know we were not as close as we had hoped to be with our daughter. husband had to take the bus each night to care for our dog that stayed at their site

Looks like 2100 camping loop which is full hook up and 2200 cabin loop are now the closest together. There is a main road between them. 1200 would be the closest premium loop with 2 main roads between them and a bit of a distance.

Did a live chat last night and she said 2100 loop is not an option to book now - best loops are 900 and 2200 for us.

The question is WHY did Disney do this? Why did they take out the 2100 loop cabins. I'm TOTALLY bummed.

Simple economics.

The cabin Value rate for 2017 is about $350/n with tax. A Full campsite is about $83 for the same rate periods. But Disney had such high demands for campsites versus cabin demand that it could make more money on 2100 as a campsite loop than they could as a cabin loop.

It does hurt those like yourself that used that campsite/cabin back-to-back arrangement of 1100 and 2100. Now the 2200 is the closest cabin loop across the main road. Not so convenient but now that's the best pairing with 2100 or 1100.

The conversion took place within the last year.

PS - back when the Fort expanded decades ago, loop 2100 went in as a campsite loop. It still had the old utility logs left over next to the cabins after they were converted to cabin loops. So they have gone back to whence they came...

OK, another Disney rep on Live Chat just wrote: "The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are located in loops 2200, 2300, 2400, 2500, 2600, 2700, 2800." So this will help us in our planning for sure. Sad to see those back-to-back sites no longer available :(

As I think I mentioned, for us it is closer for us to book loops 900 (campsite) and 2000 (cabin) so we do not need to cross a road but rather cross a bridge over the creek. Hopefully one of our readers will visit FW and check this out to confirm for us all.

2000 is a tent loop. It and 1500 are the only two tent loops in the Fort. Maybe you're referring to 2200 like the post #7 above?

The walking bridge goes out the back of 900 into the Creekside Meadow Group Camping site (for big groups like 10-40 people). Loop 2000 is adjacent to Creekside Meadow and it's not hard to use the same bridge. To get to 2200, you have to cross the road.

I've camped in 900, 2000, 2200 (cabin stay) and Creekside Meadow and use the bridge frequently on other trips. Consult the Fort map we have in the FW Resort Information sticky thread at the top of the camping board. I've linked it below.

The map still shows 2100 as cabin but it is a camping loop. The brown circled loop (2200-2800) are cabin loops. Hope this helps.

PS - 900 loop is the nearest Premium pet loop according to the map. Is that a requirement for you? Do you have a pet? True, that back-to-back combo was convenient.

Thanks Bama Ed. As long as we are not too far apart for our 3 1/2 year old and 7 year old grandchildren to visit with Grandma and Grandpa is all that matters and I see 1100 and 2200 are not far except for the road. Regardless we will have a GREAT time.
