Camping Disney Meet Summer 2006!

Hello All ~ What do you all think about having a DISmeet and camping at the same time?

I was thinking about someplace like Elora or Niagara Falls. A place that also has reasonable hotel accomodations for non-campers.

Just off the top of my head I think a meet & greet on Friday night.

Saturday night dinner together ~ Pot Luck

Sunday Pin Meet after breakky

Id'd be interested as long as I knew far enough in advance, DH needs to know at least one month for booking off work. We were thinking of going to Bissell's hideaway sometime the 1st week of July Elora would be fine for some weekend too.

I'd be in for Elora! We were just talking about trying to get in some camping this summer, haven't been since I was pregnant with DS (now 3yo), and Elora is really close to our place (plus it's where we got engaged!!!). Even if we can't camp out, I might even be able to sneak out for a meet, it's only about a 25 min drive for me. The itinerary ideas sound good too!

Hi !. DW, DD and I return to Kill Bear Provincial Park in Peary Sound every summer in August for a week. Its got to be the most beautiful camp ground and most respected I have ever been to. Respected meaning ' Clean' & 'Quiet' but not so quiet that its not fun. The staff there do not tollerate 20 somthing year old kids party'n and getting loud and out of control. We just love it there and it's great for families and friends. lots of sandy beaches, water, cliff jumping, bike paths, nature trails and in August little to no bugs if you can believe that. and the scenery is to die for. DW just asked for my summer vacation dates in order to book now or risk not getting in for the week. We've been going off and on for about 12 years now and trust me as a police officer working in Wasaga Beach every summer this is a great place to relax and enjoy camping in Ontario and very reasonable in costs. For a large two tent site near the beach about $ 25 a day but I may be a little off on the price so don't quote me . They have boat and bike rentals and alot of other stuff to do for everyone especially the kids. As for the restroom rooms and hot water showers, they have them as well and are very very clean, like DW clean. I have often thought that if you like camping and Disney, then Diser's would love it here too. I don't have the link but if you go onto the Province of Ontario parks web site and see some pictures and read up on this place. We give it 3 thumbs up and would love to meet some Diser's up there when we go. It would also be a great place to have a meet. Just my thoughts and hope to here more ideas or your opinion on this place.

Hi. It sounds like a wonderful idea to get together sometime. We are heading for our 1st family vacation to Disney in less than 3 weeks! (I went once as a teenager many years ago). We will be staying at Fort Wilderness when we go. We usually camp about 40 nights a year, so if a Canadian DISboard get together was combined with camping, I can probably get my hubby to agree to it. I agree with pkitty that Killbear is a fantastic park. We will be there July 30th to August 6th, so if anyone is going to be there then, send me a PM & we'll get together for a visit ... It may be a little far north for a lot of people, and you should have reservations months in advance to have any chance of getting a good site (or site at all...) What about the Pinery or MacGregor Point? They are also nice parks. Again, advanced reservations are recommended. Niagara Falls or Elora could probably work for us as long as we know soon so we can reserve there & not at our usual Provincial Parks. Post what you decide & we'll see if we can make it depending on when & where... Laurie.
