Camping at WDW's Wilderness campground.

Ok here it goes. We are once again planning a trip to Disney. This will be our third full week since 2000 and our 4th total. There is a big difference though. I have kids that will be 16, 13, and 9. It has made a big difference in the price. We are thinking about trading our motel which is usually POP or MOVIES to purchase the dining option. Do do this we will have to camp!!! We have a popup and this is going to save about $1000. Does anyone have any info or suggestions or opinions on camping??? Please help!!! Our money is tight!! Also this will be our first summer trip. We have always went Disney in Feb or March. Our school system has made it so we can't pull the kids out anymore. Bummer. Please I need info so I can book!!!!! Thanks

You may want to read the Camping at Disney board. There are a lot of people over there who are Fort Wilderness experts. We will be camping at Fort Wilderness for the first time this May. If you enjoy camping, I believe that you would enjoy Fort Wilderness.

We just camped at FW for 3 nights in Dec. It was beautiful! It is very clean, the showers are cleaner than mine! The boat to MK was great! The pool we went to was nice. The campfire and sing along was a lot of fun! As long as your pop up has air conditioning you will be fine. We found the change fun! After the 3 nights we went to POR when value season started so it saved us a lot and worked out great!

We went in August a few years ago before we were DVC members and camped to save $$$ - it was very hot, and we had no air in the tent, but we had a great time. We were only in the tent to sleep at night, and it cooled off enough to sleep comfortably. The shower/bathroom stations are air conditioned and wonderful, the camping areas are clean and beautiful, and the campfire/outdoor movies every night are amazing. Definitely the way to go if you're on a tight budget, because you're still on Disney property!
