We're thinking about doing a camping trip at FW! We've got a nice big tent and sleeping bags and all the camping works to really "rough" it!
Now here's the question. We kinda want to do it in Dec. I was there last year in Dec. and yeah, it was a bit cold, at least to this gal it was (used to Hawaii and Florida climes.) Do any of you think it'll be too cold to camp out? Or should we just go for it and embrace the chill as part of the overall experience? We'll be doing this w/ a 4 yr. old and a 6 yr. old.

I haven't done a Florida winter yet, but if you post this question on the Dis Camping board I bet you'll get lots of expert advice from fellow FW campers. :paw:

I would go!!! Just bring some Sweat pants and Sweatshirts and Sleeping bags and extra blankets. Personally I like to sleep in the colder air then the warmer air.
We own a Motor home and went in August 2004. It was so hot I thought I was going to melt. I don't know how the people in nonairconditioning did it.

I say go for it. We camp at FW all the time, and have tent-campted in Dec. on certain occasions. Although the weather can get "nippy" at night, the most we have ever needed was an electric blanket over the top of our sleeping bags. Some of the best sleep I've ever had on vacation was tent-camping at FW in December!

Thanks for the responses! I knew you'd all come through for me!
Hubby's all excited about the whole camping idea now!
