campground near st.petersberg ?

Hi, hope its ok to ask this here, we need to camp for 2 nights before our FW reservations, does anyone know of a good campground near St. Petersberg or that area?

Hi! Our favorite campground is Fort Desoto Park. It's right by St. Pete Beach. The only catch is that you can only make reservations IN PERSON up to 30 days in advance. So, if you're from Florida, there is no problem. But, if you're from out of state - it makes it hard to get reservations.

If you show up early enough in the day, you could probably get one of the sites that they hold aside for walk-ins.

You may also look up KOA campground or Jellystone camgrounds on the internet. It seems there are either of these camgrounds all over FLA. If you are a AAA member you may want to give them a call for help. The have a campground directory at every office, and will even make the ressie for you. Hope this helps.
