campground in sept.

We are planning to camp at FW in Sept., how crowded will the campground be? We are concerned about being able to get 4 kids (3 girls!) ready if the showers and bathrooms are packed. We have requested loop 1500 near the comfort station, is that a good idea? (we are tent camping) thanks. also- what are love bugs?? they have been mentioned on the boards and I'm not sure if you mean? mosquitos?

We are camping at FW for our first time this Sept as well and also in 1500. (as we only need water and elec in our pop up camper) So i can't give you any input on how crowded the campsite and bathhouses will be. We were at WDW last Sept (staying at the All Stars) and the general volume of people seemed light compared to what i had expected for WDW.

Maybe someone else can give you better input on that part.

As far as the love bug thing goes....they aren't like mosquitos at all. They don't bite or sting. The look like lightning bugs (or fire flys) with no light on their butts. Sept is part of their mating season and there are lots of them around, mostly flying attached to each other from the backends. (Ahem....a little privacy please! ) They didn't realy put a damper on our trip though.

ok- thanks for the info on the love bugs, maybe it's a bonus show from WDW to make up for the shorter hours?? Anyways, I knew that the parks would be less crowded but I wasn't sure about the campsites. We usually camp at state parks and have few crowds, but I've never had to hurry up to get everybody to the castle for breakfast.

Love bugs are a nuisance in both May & Sept. Besides them being absolutely everywhere, they make a real mess of your windshield when you're driving. If your car or RV gets covered with "bug juice" from hitting them, you need to get it washed off, not leave it throughout your vacation. It's pretty bad for your vehicle's painted finish.

Other than that, they don't cause harm.
