Hi...I'm not sure I've posted on this board before as we have never camped at the Fort (some day though!!). I apologize if this has been explained 100 times, as I fear it has.

My DD is a huge fan of Chip and I haven't worked in a meal with him this trip. This coming Sunday we have 9:30 ADRs at the Hoop Dee Doo. I was wondering what the logistics would be of going to the campfire/sing along, but not staying for the movie.

Some questions:
1. Is this activity solely for guest of FW?
2. Is there a charge? Do you need some sort of ADR?
3. Is it doable with HDDR? We likely will be driving from CSR and parking at the "main" parking area. I believe we will need to take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall. How would it work if we wanted to include the campfire?
4. Is it poor form to leave before or part way through the movie?

We are really looking forward to this night. Last year, we got to the Fort about 1.5 hours before the HDDR and wandered around looking at all the decorated sites. I've been camping since I was 2, so it feels like home.

Thanks for any advice.

Absolutely this is something you can and should do. Not soley for FW guests. No charge. No ressies necessary. And totally doable with the HDDR especially the later show. Just ride either the orange or yellow bus to the Meadows and follow the path to the Campfire. Not "poor form" to leave early. Love that! So Peter Pan! pirate:

Thank you so much for the detailed info. I think I'll take DD as a surprise. She's about to turn 10, but is totally infactuated by Chip. She will very thrilled.

One more question, if you don't mind. Once we leave, how do we get to the HDDR? Would it be another internal bus? What kind of time should we leave to get there comfortably?

Thanks again!

You could take an internal bus, but it really is a nice walk. Not too far at all. You just need to keep heading toward the Settlement, which is in the same direction the your original bus was headed. Same thing if you decide not to walk. Just head back to where you got off the bus and get on one headed to the Settlement. Most of the time you can walk there faster than the time it takes for a bus to get to you. But I'm not complaining! I love to park my car and depend on Disney Transportation!

We stayed in the campground 1500 loop last week which is at the yellow bus stop closest to the campfire and movie. It is .6 mile from there to the Settlement bus stop. You want to be to the Settlement at least 30 minutes prior to show time. If you don't already have your HDDR paper tickets, you will have to stand in line with lots of others to pick them up. They also take pictures of each party that you can later purchase. Sorry I can't tell you how much the pictures are. We chose not to have them taken to begin with.

More people left after Chip and Dale's appearance than stayed. Chip took one half of the outdoor theater and Dale took the other half. Everyone who wanted to have their picture taken or just get a hug was given the opportunity. The kids will love it.

Hi, I must be missing something, sorry. What time do we need to arrive to the Chip & Dale sing along? How long does it go for and what time do they start the movies after? We will be coming from Epcot, which bus are we looking to take and where exactly are we headed? When we go back we are staying at the CBR, so I figured the only park that is open will be MK so we will need to take transportation there and then to out hotel? We will not have a car. Which transportation should we be taking to get to MK? We are leaving October 7th and we wanted to see the sing along and movie on Saturday October 10th.
Thanks in advance! :charac4:

7:30pm - Fire lighting and S'Mores (S'mores Kits sold at the concession stand)
8:00pm - Campfire Sing-A-Long with Chip -n- Dale
8:40pm - The Movie Starts

Coming from Epcot, I would leave at 6:30, take the Ft. Wilderness bus, then transfer to a Yellow Settlement bus, or an Orange Settlement bus. (Yellow is shorter). Get off at 1500 Loop if on the Yellow, get off at 900 Loop if on the Orange.

If you are going to the 9:35 Hoop De Doo, then just as the movie starts, then you can take the Orange Settlement Bus or walk over to Pioneer Hall for the Show.

After the Hoop De Doo show, there will be buses directly back to all Disney resorts. (They are shared and you may be going to other resorts also.)

If MK is still open, then you have the option of taking the boat to MK, then switching to a CBR bus.

(FYI, after Daylight Savings Time ends, the schedule may move up an hour to 6:30 pm for firelighting, but don't quote me on that. Please doublecheck!!)

That helps so much for dinner reservations and planning the day! Will my hotel be able to verify the times the day of?:firefight

So I'm thinking of adding Hoop De Doo to our ressie in December for our day off from the parks. If I get a 5:00 seating, would that put us into good timing to head right over for the campfire & movie after dinner? Not sure on the timing. Also, do they run the campfire & movie every night or only certain nights?

I would double check on the time
When I was there Chip took one side and Dale took the other. They started in front and worked their way back. My grand children(5 & 3) enjoyed it.We didn't stay for the movie.

Go to Fort Wilderness for the campfire/sing-along, nightly at 7pm behind the Meadow Trading Post. Movie begins approximately 7:40pm. A Disney classic movie follows the sing-along. Chip and Dale usually make an appearance. The Fort Wilderness staff will provide a campfire; bring your marshmallows, hot dogs and sticks if you have them. If not, marshmallows and sticks are available for purchase at $2 for 2 sticks and plenty of marshmallows; $5 for a s'more kit. The movie shown is different each night of the week. In the event of inclement weather, a "Porch Jam" sing-a-long will take place at the Ol' Meadow Swimmin' Hole. Movie & Sing-a-Long free of charge. Note: All movies & characters are outside! Campfire Show is held nightly if weather permits.
Note: the campfire/sing-along is located in the middle of the Fort Wilderness campground (about a 15-minute walk from Pioneer Hall). If you do not wish to walk, you will have to catch a bus that is on the internal Fort Wilderness route (you can catch this bus at the Pioneer all bus stops). Get off at the Meadowlands Trading Post stop. If the campground is crowded, the campfire/sing-along may also be crowded.

Yes, the marina is the best place for the fireworks. Many folks go out with chairs and snacks and make a night of it. There is a niture trail that you can see the firework from if you can find it, but the marina is where most people go
