Campfire and boat to MK ???s

My daughter and I are camping at FW at the end of August. (The service dog is on vacation so my daughter gets to go to to WDW with me. )

I use an ECV to get around due to poor stamina for walking/standing. (Muscle damage from diabetes.) I expect the lake levels to be pretty low at the end of summer and I've heard that the boats >used< to have trouble loading wheelchairs/scooters during certain water levels. Is this still the case? I may be able to lift the scooter into the boat if its too steep to drive but not too steep to lift. Advice?

Daughter also wants to know if the campfire is kept going during the nightly movies? She likes to graze on hot dogs / marshmallows...

I don't know the answer to your first question, but I bet people on the DISabilities board would.

I can help with the second part - the campfires in April seemed to last quite a while into the movies. They started the fire first, then did singing, then cartoons and finally, the movie. The fire was going the whole time.

Good to know about the campfire. Daughter is trying to figure out what else tastes good burned on a stick...

We were camping last week and the water is low right now. If normal rainy season comes, IF, then level should rise. Friends were told that there were no boat rentals at this time due to low water levels. I would think you could always call Fort Wilderness Front Desk and ask about this when the time gets closer.

We are dry right now but the rainy season starts in a week or two so hopefully the water levels will be up by August. If you can't load on the MK boat I'm sure they'll have alternate transportation available--just ask.
