We're considering leaving our camper in storage in the WDW area between trips. Anybody done this? Inside or outside storage? Any idea of costs?

We used a storage place in Christmas, Florida, which is in east Orlando very close to I-95. It was $50 a month outside. She had some covered storage spots but they were all full but her website says they are adding more.

It was a very secure place and we enjoyed the service. We only stopped using it because we are buying a home in Lakeland so we can be closer to Disney and out of Orlando. Now we will only be 21 miles from Disney on
I-4!

Here is a link to the storage place:

We store our 5W year-round in Clermont (which is 12 miles from WDW) at Greater Mini-Storage. It is a really secure facility and we have used them now for almost 3 years. It has been a HUGE improvement in our life, as we only camp at WDW and it makes traveling so much easier. I know they recently raised their rates, but since I pay ahead for the year, I'm not really sure of the new rate. Seems to me it is somewhere around $65 per month. When you factor in the extra cost of gas for towing your rig and the wear/tear on your unit while bouncing down the road, it is a bargain.

For the last several years, we take our rv from Delaware to Florida via Blue Ridge Parkway and a long slow ride looking at leaves in October. We store it for two or three months at A/C Quick and Safe Storage ion Route 27 in Davenport at $60.per month. We return in January for the rest of the winter at the Fort. Old age has some advantages! Huge savings in travel costs, plus I haven't winterized my rv for several years. Thanks to other posters for the storage sites listed. Our experience this year is that storage sites are getting harder to find.

I'm surprised at the prices...they were a lot more than I expected. (Of course, I live in a rural area in the Midwest, so I had no clue.) Anyone want to rent out a section of your backyard to make money for your next Disney trip?

Bianca,
Do you have a contact number , e-mail address or web site for the facility where you store your RV. We are in a similar situation , as we only camp at Walt Disney World and haul our RV from Canada every year. We would go more often if we had a good place to store our tralier and didn't have to tow it back every time. Thanks for any help you can give me.

bumping up...how about a few more places and then I'll contact all of them and compare.. pirate:

The reason prices are higher and sites are more limited is that there are so many residential areas around here where people just don't have the yard space to store an rv or the homeowner's association has rules against it. At our storage place the owner said she had a waiting list because so many locals were having to stop storing their own rigs.

I have a question:
Do you know of any place that stores rv's and then sets them up for you when you are ready to come back to FW? My hubby wants to store our 19 foot trailer near WDW and then see if they will deliver and pick up so that we can fly in and have no worries.
Thanks
Pat

We use the storage place in Christmes. It only takes about 30-40 minutes to get to FW. There number is 407-568-1099, if you want to contact them. They are expanding and should have plenyy of room. If you leave a message, they will call you back.

Just park it in the back parking lot with the others no one will mess with it. When you enter dont turn in the main entrance that says Fort Wilderness, pass that and use the last entrance you will see parked trailers and campers.
