I was able to get a reservation for next Christmas at FW so we are bringing the fifth wheel instead of staying in our DVC villa. Since we come every March for Spring Break, I want to just leave the trailer after Christmas in Florida and then pick it up when we come back in March.

Has anyone ever stored a trailer in Orlando for a couple of months? I figured I had better start looking early for a safe place to store it plus I want to get prices. It has to be cheaper than gas back and forth to Northern Indiana.

Just curious and looking for any info...

I did this last year for the same reasons you want to. I live in Tn and its about 750 miles to the fort from here. I figured it saves me $150 each way to store it there when I will be back soon.
I first started looking with a search on the web for RV storage before I went down. I then took some time while I was there to look over a few of them, one in Winter Garden was ok, not what I would say great but it was right up 535 and about $2.25 a day. I looked at some that I wouldn't leave a junk car at and expect it to be untouched when I returned.
I found a great deal in Clermont at a place called Flordia Discount self storage #4 Hartwood Marsh, 2300 Hartwood Marsh Rd, Clermont 34711 352-242-2488. They are 18 miles from the fort on Rt 27. They are secure and have gate access untill 9 pm then the gate locks you in or out. I have heard reports that Fl has a problem with people living in storage areas hence the 9 pm lock out. The storage has concrete area for TT and motorhomes as well as trailers and cars of every type. The site was plenty deep and wide for my TT and was on special when I got there for $50 a month. They usually get $100 a month but it was a sale and I don't know if it still on.
Most of the campgrounds have storage in Fl for about $2 a day but I would visit first to see what it was like. Over New Years we stayed at the Thousand Trails on 27 and their storage was a little hap hazard to say the least, ask Frank.

I hope this helps

The RV Park where I stay is about 10 miles from Disney and they have storage here for $55.00 a month.

We left ours at America Choice RV in Clermont, they are a very large full service rv dealer. They were great to us when we broke down, even let us stay at there full hookup area overnight Free while being serviced. We left our 5th wheel there 6 months and came back and picked it up. It was $ 60.00 per month last year 2010..

Thanks for all the leads. I will check them out in March when we are there. I figure depending on gas prices that I can easily save $500 in gas even if I pay $100 per month for 3 months. I just want to make sure our trailer is safe while we are gone.
