Okay...so we are considering staying at a Universal Studios hotel for 2 nights to get front of the line access at those hotels, but we want to bring the camper to Ft Wilderness to stay the rest of the week. Is there a place to park our camper without checking in when we arrive? Is that a crazy idea?

1) The only place is the overflow parking lot.
2) But, there have stories
. . . of people being able to park 1-2 nights
. . . of people not being able to park 1-2 nights
3) All depends upon
. . . how crowded is the lot
. . . how crowded is the campground
. . . how nice the CM's want to be
4) I would be prepared to park elsewhere as a fall-back position.

NOTE: When I worked The Desk, we allowed very few such parking.
But, it just depends - sometimes on the phase of the moon or on the
alignment of the planets.

Call the Outpost (407-824-2727) to get the correct answer regarding parking a vehicle without being a FW Guest. Chances are good they will say no. I would think you should have no problem with US on-site parking.

Yikes, you all have me nervous now. We are going on a cruise in may followed by 10 nights at fort wilderness. I called and asked if we could park our trailer in overflow while we are on the cruise, they said yes, but I don't want to drive 21 hours and find out I can't park there! Perhaps they are making an exception because we are going on a Disney cruise, so they still have our business.

1) Once again, things are fluid.
2) The answer could be yes or no.
3) If you call and they say "yes", get a name.
4) Then, send a confirming fax using that name.

DW, 2 DGSs and I went on a DVC Member's Cruise with a FW stay for a week upon our return. I called FW asked about leaving our MH in the overflow lot while on the cruise And then check-in the morning we got back. The reply was that it could not be done unless we stayed at FW before the cruise.

If things are so fluid, best bet is to call again, get Manager's approval in writing and hope she/he doesn't change location before you get there.

Good luck.

I have a week long trip to FW in September, followed by a cruise on the Fantasy. I was told I could keep my vehicle and pop-up in overflow because I was checking out of FW to go on the cruise (and that we would be picked up by the bus there to be taken to the ship). I agree with everyone else. Call to confirm.

It would probably help to show your cruise paperwork as justification to show that it is adjacent to your Fort reservation.

Just a suggestion. :confused3
