Hi,
We are staying at this campground the long weekend in July. Just wondering if anyone has stayed here before and if we have made a good choice. Looking for feedback! The good and the bad take care Kathy

We stayed at Campark years ago...it was nice...saw a wolf! It walked straight thru our campsite without even looking at us.

We have stayed at Niagara Falls KOA, Niagara's Jellystone & Marineland's King Waldorf campgrounds.

KOA ~ expensive, not terribly pretty sites but it has a great INDOOR heated pool.

Jellystone ~ a little "trailer-parky" but nice pool, mini-golf and playground for my kids.

King Waldorf ~ cold pool, very close to Marineland. You can still get season tickets to Marineland for only $5.00 more than a one-day ticket.

We are off to Elora to camp this weekend! Hope it doesn't rain! S

I think I'd crap my drawers if I seen a wolf. DH and I freaked when we saw a skunk parade around like a cat on our campsite in Kitchener last year Campfire time was over...as he wasn't leaving. Have fun this weekend it won't rain 'cause I'm working!! :lmao:

Thanks...I'm all packed! DH will be home at 4pm, I'll be home about 6pm. We will load the cars and head out! Should be roasting weinies and marshmellows around 8pm! We are is search of a trailer storage area near Elora/Guelph. Our current storage company is kicking us out and all other tent trailers to bring in large RV's and charge more $$$$$$$$$$$. We live in a townhouse and don't want to store the trailer in our garage, so we need a new place.

The weather is starting to clear up ~ should be a great camping weekend.

Enjoy Niagara Falls ~ it's one of my fav places! Blessings, Sandra

We stayed there 2 nights in July of 2004. It was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, nice pool, nice laundry facility. I do recall a train going by fairly close. Could here it some time in the night. But it didn't seem to disturb our 3 childrens sleep at all. Just me but the again I never sleep well away from home. But we were very pleased with this campground. Especially since we had spent 2 night on the same trip at a campground in Toronto and it was horrible. People up all night (and I mean like 4 - 5 in am) partying, drinking, cursing, putting wooden pallets on the campfire so that the flame were at least 10 ft in air. And this was advertised as a family campground. So a little train noise was a welcome relief.

Thanks for the responses we have booked for the long weekend in July. :cool1:

Where in Toronto did you go? I want to stay away from partiers. When camping, I like hanging out, swimming, hiking and resting...not partying.

We just got in from Elora camping...it was beautiful. I'm always amazed at the billions of stars!!!!!!!

Blessings, Sandra

When we go to toronto ie Canada's Wonderland, we usually stay at KOA @cookstown or the Yogi Bear campground. They are located on hwy 400 just north of toronto. We love both places..very clean and lots of activities. Cookstown outlet mall is right there also.

The campground we stayed at was called Glen Rouge Campground. I think it was run by Toronto Parks & Recreation. Like I said they advertised as a family campground and I believe quiet time was 11. The first night these people partied until around 4 or 5 am and I didn't say anything. The next time when their fire was 10 ft in the air, I complained to the security guard (yes they had one) and he went to talk the them. We were only about 3 sites away from these people and I could hear the security guard tell them that there was a complaint and who it was that complained. Well they told the security guard " you know Bill, we've had fires bigger than this". Then they yelled out to the whole campground some profanities and then yelled over to us "hey lady send your husband over so I can punch him in the mouth". There was a young couple who had just came in and set up their tent and we heard them packing up and leaving about 2 in the morning. If we didn't have 3 kids with us, we would have packed up and went looking for a hotel. But it was just too difficult with the kids. It was our last night there and I would have left the next morning even if it wasn't. I would never go back. Here in Nova Scotia, when a campground advertises quiet time, that means things get quiet at that time. You might hear a quiet radio in the distance or some families talking around their campfire but that's it. Hope this warns and helps people out there.
