Camp Kitchen question and show me your set up

Nature Mom....glad you got your set up. I am still looking. Saw where its your first year homeschooling...its my 3rd. Good luck!

 Nice to make your acquaintance! Thank you, I need luck (and a few prayers, too). ;)

I hope you find a set-up. Keep checking Craig's List, garage sales, etc. My best find was going to what I thought was a garage sale one day and finding out it was really a company that does the estate sale of stuff. I chatted it up with the owner of the company, we became friends and now he always calls me when he finds certain items in an estate that he knows I may be interested in before they go up for public sale. Becoming his friend was my best garage sale find EVER. :thumbsup2

We're getting ready to start our sixth year of homeschooling. If I could go back in time and tell myself a few things when we got started with all of this, I surely would have said to not sweat the small stuff---and enjoy every day as it comes, celebrate the achievements, and try to look past the failures.

I've been scouring Craigslist, and also looking through the close-out type stores around here. I haven't had any luck finding a camp kitchen yet, but today I did find a Coleman twin air mattress and a very big inflatable chair that also makes into a lounge for less than $10 for both! I was thrilled with those finds. Now if I can have some luck like that to find a deal on a camp kitchen.... ;)

Thank you for that piece of advice. I am very much a don't sweat the small stuff type of person, or I try to be (old habits die hard with some things [like Christmas] lol).

After going through cancer treatments, I figure everything is small stuff now. I figure nowadays, a tumor is a crisis. The spill in the gulf was a crisis. Our debt ceiling was near crisis. :scared1: The small things I may not do right this 1st year are really only by my own standards, and it is okay to lower them a little. I am only HSing one child, my DD16 wants to finish HS in a public setting because it works for her. The youngest is who needs the 1:1 ratio, and so she will get it. I am very happy about our decision, if just a bit nervous. :)

Now, back on topic, lol...great deal on your finds! I figure early September, the areas around me will be hopping with garage sales again, so people will be clearing out what they have. I love when the whole neighborhood does it at once. I can leave with not too much cash in my pocket and come back with a jeep full of goodies. Good luck on finding a kitchen!

I'm so sorry. :grouphug: You've got it right---it is all small stuff. I hope I didn't come across in a bad way. I only meant that I wish I would have not been so worried about how things would go, because it actually has all gone the way it probably should have. I did buy a few things that didn't work out, but it was all a learning process for me. Again, I'm sorry if sounded like I was being bossy. Just trying to spare others some grief with the perceived stress that goes along with homeschooling.

I'll keep looking for that elusive camp kitchen. If I don't find one, I'll figure out something I can use that will work just as well.

Not in a bad way at all. I appreciate the advice and I will use it.

Yes, don't give up..you'll find one! :thumbsup2

Great Advice posted! I learned real quick to lay down all of my crazy schedules:) I am schooling my 15DS..12DD and 5DD. My 17 DS is finishing his senior yr in a private christian school that he has attended since k5. We pulled the others due to cost of tuition. Our family loves Ft. Wilderness and Disney. I hope to find a few great bargains..wishing a Pop Up would be one of them.
