Any inputs on taking digital & video cameras into Discovery Cove? 2 A, 2 Kids for the Trainer Package.

I'm not sure I"ll swim, I might just want to take photos.

Is it a pain to carry around the cameras? Are lockers easy to get to, if we decide not to carry them everywhere and can we get back to them, if we're in the Trainer Package??

Thanks for any info!

There are lockers, although I don't know about using them while doing Trainer for a Day. I can't imagine it would be a problem. I used our video camera to tape DD doing the dolphin swim, and got some general footage around the park...and then put it away. Same thing with the digital camera. I got shots of the things I knew I wanted pics of, and then put it away. DD and I each had a disposable water camera, and we carried those around all day.

I would call DC and ask as u are not allowed a camera during the doplhin swim:jester:

When we were trainers for a day we each recieved a waterproof camera that we carried around with us. They float which make it nice and the staff took pictures with them if you wanted some with everyone.

As far as pictures or video with the dolphins, you have to purchase the ones that the photographers take. You can't take cameras with you during your swim.

Have fun!!!:wave2:

I should say that the cameras were part of the package ( only trainer for a day) and were free! :p

You can bring your digital camera into the park and put it in the locker. It's not far from the beach and you can go back and forth as much as you want. The only thing is, there is sand everywhere. You have to be careful when carrying your fancy equipment around. You can take pictures of the dolphins from the shore, about 20 feet from the action. They'll come out, but the pro shots are much better because they're standing next to your kids.
Take a look at my TR and you'll get an idea of what I'm talking about, as I took some pics from the shore of some other people. You'll notice my shots from the shore include everyone, like a general shot. Whereas, the pro shots have 1 person in them with the dolphin.

This was a GREAT trip report!! Your pictures are getting us excited to go!!

I guess we'll plan on buying at least some of their pictures!

Thanks again for all the info! It was very helpful!:Pinkbounc

Ooops, forgot one. You mentioned in your trip report that you removed jewelry. Was this just for the Dolphin Swim time, or for the entire park? My dd has newly pierced ears, so she's worried now that they will close up. If it's just for the 1 hour Dolphin time, she should be okay.

I assume that means watches, wedding rings, etc......should we leave them in the care before we go in, if that is the case?

Thanks again!

Removing jewerly is only for the dolphin swim. You can put it back on after the swim.

Poohpamg, you are OK to keep your wedding ring on. I removed all my jewellery just in case but at the talk you have with your trainer just before your dolphin swim they say it is Ok to wear your wedding ring, what they are worried about is any dangly jewellery that could come loose in the water and then get eaten by the dolphins. If your DD has just had her ears pierced I guess she is wearing either studs or little hoops, I would have thought these were OK. When you get to DC your party will be shown around by a CM who will show you where the lockers, changing rooms, wet suits etc are. Ask her or him and if your DD has to remove the earrings the lockers are very safe, you set your own security code for them and there is a CM in the locker area supervising them the whole day.

Have a great time, I wish we could do our day all over again, it was FANTASTIC!!!!!

Thank you for the info!!! Yes, they are studs, so she should be okay.....but we'll check.

She's already having sleepless nights, b/c she is SOOOO EXCITED!
Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip there, hope ours is memorable too!

Thanks again!
