I read another post in which someone stated that customs had questioned their laptop and if they bought it on the cruise. Has anyone ever had any problems bringing back cameras and other gear. We just bought a new digital camcorder and don't wnat to be hassled when I come back into the country.

I would recommend tucking your receipts in with your travel documents. I did this a couple of years ago when my camera and lenses were brand new. Now there is a newer model so I won't have to worry - I understand the customs folks are pretty up to date on the latest versions.

I was questioned but simply answered the questions and asked (politely) if they needed to see the receipts as proof. I was fine. They did also look at my watch and a ring but again being able to tell them I had them when I boarded was the end of it. Now all they'd need to do is look and they'll see the wear and tear on them! :D
