This next trip will be our first trip to a Disney water park- Blizzard Beach! I haven't been to a water park in about four years, and then I had a little digital camera (that has since died), now I have a much bigger and nicer one that I don't want to bring in a water park. What would you recommend for taking some pictures at Blizzard Beach? I don't need the most amazing quality, just wanted to get some shots to put in my scrapbook. TIA!

I bought this camera about 18 months ago for underwater and panoramic photos. I have been happy with the photos. I'm sure there's a newer model by now but the line has gotten great reviews.

What I did at the time was just google "best waterproof camera" and start reading. Some have faster lenses, some do better in the water than out of the water. You'll have to decide what's most important and go from there.

I was going to reply, but I see PP has the same camera I do! :). I've had it several years now and really pleased with it. Does video too. My friend has an Olympus that is very similar. Get a high speed card for it though, or it will cut off often while shooting video (but that's not unique to this camera--just a general note). Have fun! I love our water pics and the kids have fun with it too.

I just purchased the Nikon coolpix waterproof and shockproof (30ft deep 5ft drop) for our WDW/Cruise trip next week. It was $99.00 before tax at Wally World.Does anyone have any opinions on this model. I saw a shutterfly honeymoon album taken with this camera that looked pretty nice but if someone could set my buyers remorse at ease I would appreciate it.

My husband has a Coolpix--not the waterproof one, though--and I think it's a very good little camera for that price point. None of these little compacts are going to shoot like an SLR, but for what they are, they're great. At ease, Skipper! ;)

We have 2 of the water/shockproof Coolpix. We really like them. They are not as good as a DSLR, but we they are small, good resolution, and sturdy. We also have the Chum bright yellow, floating wristbands. I don't think we have needed the wristband, but it's nice in an emergency. We have used the cameras at the parks and while snorkeling. The newer ones are also a lot faster than our older Coolpix. They are definitely water and shockproof. Our son has tested the shock part.
