I'm sure this has been run into the ground but I need something to replace the one that came with the Sony a57.
I have narrowed it down to 3 choices, the Upstrap pro, the OP pro and the the Rapid Strap.
What are, if any the advantages between the 3 and how long shoud it be? (ie...38", 42", 54"???

My favorite isn't one of those.

I use a Crumpler Industry Disgrace on my main body. I've got OP Tech straps (very cheap, basic ones that I've had forever) on most of my 35mm SLR's and they're OK, but nothing to write home about. I prefer the Crumpler because it's long enough to wear any way I want, it distributes the weight well, and it breathes very well.

+1 for the Crumpler. I have the Convenient Disgrace for my Nikon D7000.

I used to have the Black Rapid RS5 but I found the Crumpler fits my shooting habits better. I do a lot of night shots with a tripod.

Another vote for the crumpler straps - I use a Crumpler Singapore Sling which I believe is the UK equivalent of the Industry Disgrace.

I looked at the Crumpler Industry Disgrace on ebay and they don't look like they are very long or have a quick disconect? Thev have one that is black and one that is Brown/Gunmetal/Orange. The one that is Brown/Gunmetal/Orange doesn't look like the other one that is black. Could this be a different model?:confused3

The Convenient Disgrace can be adjusted to 52 inches total length and has 2 quick release clasps:

I own a Blackrapid strap which I no longer use. Now I prefer the UPstrap. Used it today in Daytona for Bike Week.

Haven't used the Crumpler strap, but I've bought some of their bags and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the company's products.

Another Industry Disgrace fan here. And I'll mimic the comment about them breathing well.

Go to crumpler.com to look at the current models from them. The Industry Disgrace and the Convenient Disgrace are similar, but the Convenient Disgrace has the quick release clips and more grip stuff on the neck pad so it doesn't slip and more adjustment play in the length.

Personally I'd switch to the Convenient Disgrace except they don't make it in the limited edition digital camo print that's on my Industry Disgrace. A girl has to have priorities.

The quick release clips on both the Industry Disgrace and the Convenient Disgrace look like they are at the neck pad and not near the camera. Is this right?

This probably does not apply to many here, but I need flexibility when I'm shooting. Many times I will carry two DSLR's and need a system that quickly adapts to that requirement. I have two BlackRapid RS-4's, one on each body that with the BR Coupler straps, quickly converts to a two camera system. With long lenses (with a tripod collar) attaching the strap to the tripod collar balances the camera better than the camera attachment points hence its much easier to carry for a longer period of time. Again, I realize this may not be an issue for many, but I thought I would just mention it.

I've been using the Carry Speed FSpro with a mounting plate. The 12+ hour a day for 7 days at WDW in November were a breeze with it. The only time I took it off was for rides like Splash, RnRC Everest, Kalahari ect. ect and during meals.
