Wedding related.

I was wondering if anyone had any camera recommendations. I really want a good camera to take to Disney for our wedding and honeymoon. I have a Kodak EasyShare 8 MP. I like it because it is small and compact. Lately it seems like the pictures I get from it are very grainny (SP?). They just are not that great.

I am looking for a compact camera that will take very sharp pictures. Any brides or grooms have any suggestions on the camera they used for their wedding and honeymoon?

Thanks,
Linda

I'm in the market for a new camera as well. Mine just decided to break a few days ago! :(

I've heard really good things about the Canon A720 IS, which is a midsized camera. I used to have the older model of this camera and it was great until it broke after I owned it for 6 years lol. (The LCD display is what broke)

I heard there's a newer version of the A720 IS, the Canon A2000 IS. Plus a slightly smaller zoom version which is the Canon A1000 IS. But sometimes buying the model one step down from the newest works out to be cheaper.

The big thing about these cameras is Canon's Image Stability feature, which helps your photos be less blurry.

I think if you wanna go super compact, there's also the Canon ELPH line. My friend owns a Canon ELPH PowerShot SD1100 IS, that he raves about all the time, and the pics do come out nice. Not to mention the camera is tiny!

(No, I don't work for Canon LOL)

I love my Nikon Coolpix s200. I really really want the new Nikon s60. Its a touch screen & looks amazing! I thought I had lost my current one, and was scheming to get the new one, but I found my old one-darn.

I have the Sony cybershot DSC-w200 12mp. It takes amazing pictures. the quality for night time pictures is the best, fireworks look amazing. It is also really good with panoramic views and closeups.

I had an Easy Share 8mp as well, and I went to an event where you meet and get your picture taken with Bob and Sheri (national radio morning show that I love). The picture of me with them was horrible! I had my DF take it 4 times (Bob and Sheri rock - very patient!) and none of them came out well. So I sold that on ebay at a loss, and bought myself a Casio Exilim 10.1 MP Camera in pink o'course.

I find that it is very easy to use and I get great crisp shots no matter where I am. It also has a great video mode that I've used with great success.

And here's the link to it at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Casio-EX-Z105...5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222809256&sr=8-5

Also here's a link to a YouTube video I made of Rob (DF) sledding this past winter. You can watch it in high quality and see how it really looks. It was taken with the camera!

I've always been very fond of anything in the canon sd line. They take great pictures and I really like the size, and the newer ones have very nice large screens.

I know it's confusing finding the right camera! The only thing I'd suggest is do research online before buying any particular camera. I had a nice coolpix, but the delay between pressing the button, and the picture being taken was horrendous! Always missed the shot! There are some websites that compare the different shutter delays and such, I'd really do my homework first! I ended up getting the Sony T70 because it had a low shutter delay, relatively large touch screen, and pretty compact. (not to mention they had it in pink, so I don't have to worry about my macho sons borrowing it! :rotfl: )

I am going to start researching all the recommendations. I really want to get some great shots from all our wedding week and honeymoon time. Funny, I used to have a Kodak 3MP camera that took GREAT shots but it broke about 2 years ago and I have never been able to get a good replacement.

Its funny how you can get one model that is awesome from a company and then the next one is just ick. Good luck! :goodvibes

You can not go wrong with Nikon! I have a D40x (a DSLR) and Coolpix S500 (point and shoot). Definitely take a look at Nikon before you purchase a camera. The lens on them are an amazing quality. Our pictures are amazing even before any editing. :thumbsup2

I have this camera too and love it! :lovestruc It really does take great pics and is pretty easy to use. I love that I can blow up pics too and they still look great- really clear and bright!
