We are looking for a good small camera to use for our trip to WDW. Could you give us some suggestions and tell us about the cameras you use on your trips.

Thanks!

I have the Canon SD500. It is very small (will fit in your pocket) but has a nice, big viewfinder/screen on the back, and is relatively simple to use.

I'm partial to Sony's Cybershot cameras. I've had 2 Sony Cybershots and have enjoyed both (bought an DSC-H1 as the 2nd one because I wanted to do more with the camera & pictures). I've always had great luck with the Sony. Also, a 2GB memory pro stick will hold 810 pictures in fine mode. I found the smaller Cybershot very easy to use and it was pretty light.

I own a Sony Cybershot DSC-W7 and I love it, its small enough to fit in my pocket and it takes some great pictures, I have a 512mb stick in it and I can take up to 135 pictures I think it is. Thats with all the best settings too.

I too have a Sony Cyber-shot and love it. Mine has 7.2 mega pixels, 2.5" LCD monitor and 3x zoom. You probably don't need 7.2 mega pixels, but mine was a gift and I got the best.

We purchased a Pentax Optio wpi. It fits in your pocket, has 6.0 mp, has a rechargeable battery and charger and it's waterproof. You can actually film under water. It has numerous different settings but is easy to use. We tried out the 'Fireworks' setting at our local firework display the other night. It worked really well, with a tripod it would be perfect.

We have a Kodak Easyshare (can't remember the exact model), but love it. It's very easy to use and takes great shots.

We also have a Sony Mavica, but it can be bulky sometimes.

Thank you all for your suggestions/help. I've looked at the Canon, but haven't really thought about Sony's. I will now take a close look.

Thanks again.

Hey thanks for all your help.

I bought a Sony DSC-W70 after your recommendations and reading reviews of it all over the net. Have been playing with it the last 2 days :) really love the pictures it produces as well as all of its features and the fact that the back isn't loaded with dials.

Also, it's s-o-o-o-o-o-o tiny! Will be easy to carry around the parks.

Thanks again.

We have had both the sony and canon.
Both take beautiful pictures. I do believe the canon takes somewhat nicer pictures. Either way you can't go wrong. Make sure you hold both of them in the store and see which one is more comfortable when taking pictures. That is the most important feature with these.

thats cool, i wanted to get a new Sony and get the W7 but I might wait till I get back from WDW and then do some more searching, therefore I have money I can finally spend, I'm saving all my money right now so I can do almost anything at the World!!!!

How is it for interior shots, such as in a resort?

I have a Nikon L1. It's great, but I think you can go and pick up pretty much any small digi. My suggestion is to get one with a higher MP (5+).

It could be the best camera in the world.
If you don't have a "feel" for, will not do you any good.

To answer your question Ransom ... the pictures I have taken in the house have been fantastic. For a small camera, it has a great flash. It also produces pictures with wonderful color because of the Carl Zeiss zoom.

Hope this helps.
