I just got back from a week down At WDW. I was surprised to see so many people take photos with their cell phones. How good can the quality be? I have never used the camera on my phone.
The problem with cell phone pics is that the sensor is EXTREMELY small. They make the typical p&s sensor look huge. That said, I do use my cell phone cam to upload random Facebook shots
The only reason I have a camera in my phone is it comes that way, I don't use it, and on the rare times that I have to go into a court house it is actually a pain because they take my cell away, which also has my calender etc in it. I wish I could buy a phone that did what I wanted it to do that doesn't have a camera.
I've noticed this too. For some people this is their only camera, crazy as it seems. My brother was only using his cel to take pics of his kids until I showed him how tiny and bad his pics actually looked on a computer monitor.

That's pretty much what I use mine for. When I see something funny or interesting I might snap a picture of it to send to my husband or friends. I also have some pictures of the kids on there--kind of replaces the wallet full of photos (although I guess I do have a few photos in my wallet too).
i use mine all the time to send shots of things that happen throughout the day( as in any day, not just at wdw ) to the hub and kids and when daughter was at wdw it pretty much was a every few hr deal which was nice as it was granddaughter's first time there( and daughter's first time there without the rest of the family actually) so it kind of felt like we were there... sort of, a little.the photos are ok, i just keep them on my phone so they are fine for viewing there. i don't use it in place of my dslr, more maybe in place of a small lousy point and shoot, in other words what it is.
i do wonder how many other people just use that as the normal way to send or show friends photos instead of printing them out like in the good old days cell phones are like a third arm anymore so if you don't really want to keep the shot forever, they are something you always have with you.
I would say that 3MP on a cell phone camera should make decent 4x6's.
My sister and her (more tech challenged) husband don't have a still camera. One time she had to go on a trip and then the dog had puppies and she spent a long time on the cell phones getting her husband back at home to take pictures of the puppies (with a cell phone) and upload the approx. 1MP pictures for sharing. That cell phone also had no way of getting the pictures out without using the network and incurring extra charges.
although I carried my twin Sony A700's every day for the past 3 weeks at WDW, I tried to take at least one picture with my Iphone each day, it made it easier to email my coworkers and taunt them each day....LOL
I only take pics in WDW with my phone to use as the wall paper on my phone screen. I have one of the castle, one of TofT, one of RnRc, the Sorcerer Hat in HS and some other random characters ... I change them up every couple of days but that way I always have a little bit of Disney in my pocket
I don't think people who use cell phones as cameras know how bad those pictures would look at regular size. They look fine on their camera screen and maybe that's all they want them for.

BINGO. These people descended from the larger group of people who wonder why their shots through windows are washed out when they use a flash, or supper blurry when they don't, and blame the camera.
I use the camera on my phone all the time at Disney, but it's not for my main pictures. I take pictures and send them to friends back home so they can "vacation" with me!
