Camera of choice?

What camera do you use in the park ... I've seen a lot of awesome photos and I was just curious ... and to make the thread even more fun, maybe post a picture you've taken?

That's what I'm doing too. I use the Nikon D200. The DSLR are heavier, but offer so much more control that I can't go back to using a PnS now.

There is nothing wrong with a P&S if it is fullfilling your needs, then it is the perfect camera for you.

i agree its just that the overall feel of most threads tends to have an emphasis on SLRs so I was simply saying that even a P&S can get you good pictures the one exception being night shots for the most part

I think the reason for that is pretty simple actually. People that spend the money to purchase a dSLR, and the time required to learn how to use it, tend to be more passionate about that equipment, so they tend to talk about it more.

People that want the simplicity and ease of a P&S tend to just want to take good pictures, they really don't care about the equipment, just what it produces.

This is similar to someone that buys a honda, and drives it to and from work every day, they seldom mention their car. But the kids that take that same honda and turn it into a speed demon will talk about their honda all day long.

There is nothing intrisicly wrong with either stance, it is all about what makes one happy.

I have seen briliant photos produced by the cheapest p&s cameras, and I have seen crappy pictures come out of incredibly expensive cameras. In the end the camera is just a tool, and no one should be worried about what tool they are using as long as they are doing what they want to do.

have seen briliant photos produced by the cheapest p&s cameras, and I have seen crappy pictures come out of incredibly expensive cameras. In the end the camera is just a tool, and no one should be worried about what tool they are using as long as they are doing what they want to do.

This is me right now. I just got my first dslr and if I were going to wdw this week, I would take my point and shoot. I think I take pretty good pics with the sony, but have a lot to learn about the dslr.

Guys need lots of hints. Leave the computer open to a web site showing the camera you want. Go to the store and get their catalog and leave it open to the camera you want. Hire some cheerleaders to chant the make & model as they march through his workplace.
