I currently have a Sony Cybershot which is ok but I can't rave about it. I had one years ago and loved the pictures it took.
It replaced a Nikon Coolpix that had a touch screen. Nothing wrong with the pictures it took but that touch screen drove me nuts. It was great for looking back through the pics taken but in standby mode all the controls were touch screen buttons around the perimeter of the display. It had no physical buttons anywhere on the outside of the camera. (To turn on just slide open the lens cover.)
The problem is that even with using the wrist strap you had to be careful how you hold it or your hand might accidentally bump one of those buttons and change the settings. It was changing all the time. Eventually I started holding it out by the strap as if I were carrying a dead mouse by the tail.
I'm not rough or clumsy but really it wasn't worth the hassle.
