Camera ideas

I would really like some input on cameras, please. I want to get my DS a camera for his birthday. He will be 11 so I don't want anything expensive as I'm not too sure how it will be treated nor am I sure it will not be a passing fancy for him. I want something that would have rechargeable batteries. Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
