Well I don't know what you mean by not a lot of money, but there are some really good SLR cameras for "beginners" ( like myself ). The Nikon D40 or Canon Rebel XTi, for example. The great thing about these too, is if you shop around, you'll often find duel-lense kits. ( my Canon Rebel came with two lenses and I love it.

Can't lose with the CAnon Digital Rebel, you can even save more by purchasing an older version, still a fantastic camera and many retailers still have them new discounted. I sterted with the Digital Rebal (first one) and wnt to 30D and then 50D and now 5D....but I am taking the 30D with me to the park because it is lighter, wishing I still had the Rebel as it is smaller and lighter than the 30D! All great cameras.

Are you sure you want a "camera you can change the lens on", an SLR? That will generally cost you a lot more than a point and shoot camera, and is more complicated to use. Why do you prefer a SLR over a point and shoot? You certainly have more control of the camera and can take better pictures with an SLR, but you have to know what you are doing. There are some higher end point and shoot cameras that will take very good pictures, and give you some of the control of an SLR and save you a lot of money.

what is your price range?

If you are looking at changing lenses like with a SLR, a lens can cost as much as an entry level point and shoot.

What are looking to take pictures of? You, your family, characters, night shots of the shows, castle?

Are you looking to also record on a camera and not with a camcorder? If so, there's only a few SLR models that can do that.

Don't buy a camera just for WDW, that wouldn't make sense, look for a camera that you'll use for other trips, not just WDW. You can use WDW as a reason to upgrade or buy one to use for a few years.

Oh no....the 30D is lighter than the 50D? I have the 30D and love it except that it tends to get heavy after carrying it around all day! Been thinking of buying something more like the Rebel just for traveling without my DH to help carry!! I would love a point and shoot but haven't found one that comes close to the 30D....any advice??

Thanks!

I would go with a sony cybershot SLR..You can find them at best buy for like 600 bucks and you can change the lens on them too. Also sony has by far the best picture!

We have the Nikon D40X, and it takes awesome pictures, but it's a pain to lug around!! So think about the lugging factor before you go. I bought myself a cute p/s, it's a fujifilm, and 10 MP, and it takes really good pictures, and it's COMPACT, I like that!! LOL So....question is, what do you want to lug around????
