Camera Help/Recommendations

I need a new camera! I currently have a Fuji FinePix A 350, but its just a piece! All my halloween pics turned out grainy...not really blurry, just like they have a film on them, if that makes sense (any ideas why?). The shutter speed is SO slow, and I just don't like the way it takes pics.

Anyway, I need some good recommendations for a fairly inexpensive, but good digital camera. I'm looking in the $300-350 range, for just good everyday pictures of DD.

What you're seeing is "noise" and is a very common problem, especially with cheaper cameras or higher-megapixel non-DSLR camera, especially in dark photos.

There are too many cameras to make a single recommendation, you need to decide what features are most important. It's a good idea to check some reviews at review sites like www.dpreview.com, www.steves-digicams.com, www.megapixel.net, etc.
