Yesterday I bought a Vivitar camera at Target for $25. I used to have a basic 35mm camera (point and shoot w/ built in flash - nothing more) but I lost it at a charity event. I have been looking for a cheap replacement. The Vivitar actually does a lot more than I wanted it to! Red eye reduction, landscape mode, night mode. It also takes AA batteries instead of those funky size camera batteries that are $13 for a package of 2.
Today I got an 8 pack of Kodak 400 speed 35 mm film for $9. I also found 2-packs of disposable Kodak cameras for $6.28. The Target where I went yesterday had almost the entire aisle of film and disposable cameras marked down. They also have camera cases in different styles 50% off. I bought a little zipper pouch to carry whatever camera we are using in. It is perfect for a disposable.
I also saw a Kodak Easy Share docking station for about $40. We haven't made it to the digital age yet. They also had packages of 4x6 photo paper for $3.50 (regular $14.99) to use for printing digital photos.
I am experimenting with the $25 camera in all different conditions and settings to see how I like it. We didn't use the regular camera for anything on our last trip - it was all disposables. When we got the pictures back they were all a little off center. Obviously I was lining the shots up a little to one side. The Vivitar has that little circle in the middle so you can be sure it is centered.
