Camera - camcorder

Think I'm leading towards the panasonic hx dc1. I like the design.

My priorities are
A good mp rate 10m or more
Quick and easy swop between video to stills
Not bulky, however want to head away from standard design and style of camcorders.
Memory card slot
And preferable HD.
:thumbsup2 not asking much :rotfl2:

Which one did you go for in the end!

You got a review of the camera

I went for a JVC. I didn't care about HD, just wanted the super lo lux, had to record to SD cards and wanted a decent optical zoom and image stabilization. I have a little HD pocket camcorder for the rest. I read TONS of reviews and came back to this one because, for what it is, it had consistently good user reviews. Even better that I picked it up on a clearance for less than the same thing was selling refurbished on eBay :cool1:

Have ordered panasonic hx dc1, just need to know what size memory card I need.
How long does battery last.

Battery life is so subjective. It depends how you use your camcorder and reviews therefore always vary on the same product. It may be worth pricing up a second battery if you are concerned about it. Here is the Revoo score, which gave battery life a 6.5 out of 10

Memory cards, I tend to stick with known brands. A 16G or two of them should do you fine. Make sure you go for at least a class 4 - absolute minimum, preferable higher if you can.

In the booklet that came with the camcorder it states battery life to be around one hour when it's in constant use and with as much as I've used it so far, that seems to be accurate. I purchased a double pack of spare batteries for £20 off a site called Digital Media Store, although I know it's not always advisable to use "fake" batteries. They've done a good job so far though :thumbsup2

Memory card-wise, I have a 16Gb, an 8Gb (both Class 10) and a 4Gb so I figure I'll just take all 3 with me. I get mine off play.com because they tend to be the cheapest but still work well.
