Hi we are going to Yellowstone this summer and I wanted to purchase a better point and shoot. My camera now is the Elph which I love but I'm thinking I need a better one for wildlife photos and Geysers. LOl The two I am torn between are the Cannon G15 ( the picture quality is amazing) or the Cannon SX50. (You can't beat the zoom on this) I know the size is larger on these cameras. I have been to the store and held both and I am ok with that. Which would you buy and why? Thanks, :thumbsup2

Tough call between those 2. Very different advantages.
The G15 should give better image quality, better landscape photos, better in low light.
But the zoom on the sx50 could be very helpful for capturing wildlife.

If wildlife hunting is your priority, I'd go with the super zoom.

If you are willing to miss some of those shots, the g15 may give you gorgeous photos the rest of the time.

No help on the G15 but I bought the SX50 and love it. It replaced my S5IS and I am so glad I got it.....love the ease of use and how close you can get to your subject. I am going to try out night shots at Disney next week. I will rEport back.

Oh thanks that would be great!! This is the one I'm leaning towards because of the zoom. Just worried about everything else. LOL Have a wonderful time at Disney. :)

I'd go with the G15 if i were shopping for me. But this isn't for me, it's for you. What do you want to get out of the camera?

Nice pictures. LOL Nothing fancy just clear, nice shots. I would love the G15 to have a better zoom so I wouldn't have to make this choice. I'm thinking since we are going to yellowstone the extra Zooming will come in handy. PhotobearSam you are happy with your camara, Can't wait to hear back from you about your pictures from Disney.
Thanks all.

I leave tomorrow morning for 2 nights at Disney. I will get back to you.
