I don't know exactly what type of bag you're looking for or prefer, but I recently purchased this one for my DSLR and LOVE IT!!!! :thumbsup2

Slingshot100_equip_left_L.jpg

It's a Slingshot 100 AW. It holds a camera with lens and two add'l lenses plus accessories and has an all-weather case. Look for it on lowepro's website.

I'm also a satisfied SlingShot owner. I opted for the 200 model. It's a bit bigger but weighs about the same and isn't that much more expensive.

Being about to swing the bag around from my back to my chest to pull out the camera is ideal for grabbing a quick shot. Works really well in crowded situations. I'm not bumping into people with a bulky shoulder bag and dont have to take off a backpack to get to my camera. I looked at a lot of bags before going with this.

I made the mistake of starting with a traditional backpack style and what has been said above is the absolute truth. I can't tell you how many times that I had to take my pack off or even have the g/f get my camera out.

Definitely go with a sling type bag.

Since you aren't dealing with changing lenses with your camera, I would think a nice backpack or even a waist bag would do well for you. I wouldn't even necessarily bother with a camera bag for it (our last trip to WDW, I used a regular backpack and put my extra lenses that I took to the park in there with our ponchos.) Crumpler makes some nice bags (backpacks, messenger bags, etc.) and also makes camera inserts that fit into them if you want more protection for your camera. I'm sure the small would do fine for you. Check out www.ebags.com and look at the Crumpler brand.

I agree that the backpacks are a hassle. I had one and returned it. The Slingshots are good options. Another options is a waist pack like the Tenba Shootout. It swallows a lot of stuff. The only downside is that if you load it up too heavy your back might not be happy. But you should be ok with your camera and you'll fit a camcorder in there too.

I recently got a Crumpler and I love it. Its a small but funcational bag. I carry 3 lenses, the camera, charger, etc. in it and its great.

I got the 5 million dollar home. I love it and its not too big. It holds all my gear and more.

Are the Crumpler bags available for purchase in stores?

i saw them at circuit city in the photo department a couple of months ago. i bought my small case from ems (eastern mountain sports).

I'm looking for a new bag for my S2IS. The one I was "making do" with is just not going to cut it on our upcoming trip to WDW. I would like it big enough to carry my camera, a couple extra battery sets, an extra SD card or two, my room key, and of course the credit card!!:goodvibes I also have a gorillapod that I'd like to attach somehow, if straps are not on it. Oh, and I don't want it to big - as I'll be chasing 3 kids around as well!!!:thumbsup2 I did look at the Lowepro Rezo 160AW and the EX 160, they were a bit bigger than I want. I looked online at the Lowepro Rezo 110AW and the Tamrac Adventure Mesenger 1 Bag. I'm not sure if these bags are big enough for the camera or not, as I've not put my hands on them yet. Any suggestions please!?

Marge,

I don't know how big the gorillapod is, but I have used this bag (from Wal-Mart) for my S2 IS for years. It's a Samsonite and has lived up to it's name. It even fell off the top of the car and protected the camera. It is certainly big enough for the camera, SD cards, cables, extra batteries, etc. I just don't know about the gorillapod. It is smaller than most women's purses as well. It even has that nice zipper pocket in the front for the credit card! ;) I think it cost about a whopping $15.

I have the LowePro Rezo 120AW and it works great!!! It contains my S3 with a 52mm adaptor and UV filter attached to it, 4 spare batteries with the charger, pockets for memory cards, and the cable to connect to the computer.

With the 52mm adaptor attached it is a snug fit. Without the adaptor it fits easily but not so much room that it bounces around.

Good luck with your choice!!!

Thanks guys - I'm headed out to run errands this morning and hopefully can swing into a few stores to check on bags - hoping the natives don't get to restless!!!(my kids just don't get shopping, unless it's for them!!!:goodvibes )

I have this one. The pic makes it look larger then it is. The straps for the waist pack tuck neatly in a back compartment and i attached a shoulder strap so i can use it either way. (it does have loops for a shoulder strap) I found it on sale for $15. This has thicker padding then the one below. Has the same inside pockets as the one below. (doesn't show it in the pics) & the same side & front pockets on outside. Back outside pocket is different.

I had this one & returned it after i found the one above. I really liked this one but like to have a waist pack when going to places like Disney. The two are about the same size. It was $19.99 at target and the day i took it back it was on sale for $15.

Thanks everyone for the feedback - going to the camera shop tonight for one last look. I've checked all the big box stores and I really like the one from Samsonite at this point. Holds everything but my gorillapod which I can strap on with velcro strips. I have also looked at a couple of the caselogic brands but not thrilled with certain things on each one - and the one I did like- my dd told me it made my butt look big:lmao:, so of course we are not getting that!(it was a waist belt model - I think it was just the way my shirt poked out but hey, why take a chance!!!);) I want to check on a couple of the Lowepro bags and then I'm done! Thanks again!
Blessings,

I'm a little late to this discussion, but I also have the same bag as AndrewWG for my S3.

The big, top pocket is perfect to hold both the camera with my Lensmate adapter attached (on edge with the adapter facing to the left and resting on a shelf of padding) with my filters stacked on the other side of the padded divider. The rest of my stuff fits nicely in the other pockets.

I also have a small tripod that I can tie to the carry handle with some thin bungee cord.
