Camelot thoughts? And man, hotel prices high this summer!

Traveling down in August, probably the 5th-11th though we have a little flexibility in the dates. Right now, have a booking at Camelot in a suite for about $260 a night. Any recent feedback on this hotel, especially on the suite?

And just have to say I'm blown away by how high prices are this year! I knew they'd be high due to the 60th but eesh! We paid $400 a night for DLH three years ago, in August right after Carsland opened. This year, the Springhill Suites Convention Center was almost that much...paying three hundred plus for a neighborhood hotel about kills me :/.

We are in a bit of a dilemma as my high school senior daughter has decided to come (we thought she was done with Disney) and we agreed to bring her boyfriend, so we need three beds + a hideabed for our six people, ideally (I'm not putting the two of them in a bed in our room :) ). We are also looking at VRBO-definitely want to stay within walking distance as we'll be probably coming and going from the parks in different configurations throughout the day. Any other great suggestions?

If it's helpful, we've previously stayed at BWPPI (like, but really want two separate rooms), HoJo (ditto), DI&S (never again-our kids love to swim and that pool was awful) and DLH (so amazing, but not possible with six).

Hi, We did the suite at the Camelot with 3 beds and a sofa bed in June 2014 and it was fine. The room had the sofa bed and queen bed in one room with the kitchenette and the other room had two queen beds and the bathroom. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The drawback for us was that we had 7 people and only 1 bathroom. We managed just fine, but it took a bit of coordination each morning and before bed. The walk is easy and we will stay there again with a larger group. They do charge for parking.
I'd keep checking Ebates for a good Orbitz rebate and coupon code. They have most of the good neighbor hotels listed at a good savings.

That is really expensive! Don't they have a special now if you stay at least 5 nights it's $20.00 off per night? That would help. They used to be around $220 for a suite.
It's been a few years years since we've stayed there, and it's changed a bit. Now they charge for parking and give you wifi for free. It used to be the opposite. They have done away with the breakfast, but it was pretty poor, so that is no big loss. The suites are very spacious. A second bathroom would be lovely, though! The pool is small and shallow, but the location is nice...not in the parking lot!

We were just there a week ago, though not in a suite. Room was very clean, carpet looked new, linens and furniture in great condition.

I too was surprised by how high the hotel rates are this summer. Places that are normally a bargain seemed to have no deals going on.

We stayed at the Camelot two years ago. I personally loved it because the room looks clean and updated too. The outside looks charming even if it is a motel lodging, still feels like you're in Disneyland! The only reason I didn't chose it for the next trip is that they removed the continental breakfast which is important to me.

Try Orbitz. There is currently a 20% code out there that includes lots of options on Harbor, plus even the Disney resorts.
