Can you take an empty Camelbak pack on planes? I am thinking about storing my reservation info and other items in my camelbak and just carrying it on with the empty bladder instead of packing it in my suitcase. Has anyone done this before?

Of course you may take a Camelbak on a plane. You can even take one full of liquid, as long as you fill it up with liquids purchased after you pass through security.

Yes as long as it's empty . We have been just putting the bladder in our Checked bags so it gives us a bit more room for things we need on the plane

The TSA limitation is on fluids, not on their containers. You won't have any trouble. Check www.tsa.gov for the rules.

You can take one on the plane, even if it's full. You just can't take a full one past the security check.

But an empty one will make it through security check without a problem...except that if they know what it is they may want to open it and check that there are no liquids in it.
