The Boat Race that is! What a great race. After having lost by an eyelash the last two years, it was great to see the light blues get the victory! Hurrah!

Glad you enjoyed the race.

Did you watch in U.S and if so is there much U.K sport shown there (I will be there when the Grand National is run and would like to see it)?

No, sadly most American wouldn't know a scull if they tripped over it  I watched a replay from the Telegraph web site, didn't have a chance to see it live.

Hmm, horse racing is popular so you might find some coverage, especially if you found an OTB or track that simulcasts races.

Have fun on your vacation!

Well, we would in this neck of the woods. Crew is very popular around here. Lots of the high schools have teams. They're on the river all the time.

Well, speaking as someone who lived in Oxford and who's husband is an Oxford graduate - I have one word to say - BOOOOO!!!!!!

Sorry 2BoysMum&Dad! I did my MPhil at Cambridge and some of my best memories are attending sporting events v. Oxford. I went to the University Match at Twickenham and had a blast!

Then when I returned home, my new boss's DH graduated from Oxford so we had many friendly debates over which was the better University! ;)

Now we have the Rugby title and the Boat Race title...woo hoo!

Most of our friends are graduates from Oxford and we have a few from Cambridge too after various varsity matches. We participated mostly in archery varsity matches with Cambridge. One of our Oxford friends married a Cambridge man and we gave them a friendly hard time!

One of our Oxford friends now lives near Philadelphia. He did his B.A. and D.Phil. in chemistry with my DH. We have only been out to visit him once, hope to see him again out there soon.

We live near Cambridge and some of DH's family went there so we have supported Cambridge in past years, but now my son has been offered a place at Oxford in September and so we switched allegiances this year ..... and so they promptly go and lose

Well done to your son! :jumping1:

Too bad he picked the "wrong" university! ;) :p
