We are going to be attending the Calypso Cay timeshare presentation
in 2006. Anybody do this? Hard sell? Pointers?

We've been to the resort before on an exchange, and liked it enough to take a 4 night stay purchase.

I've seen comments/advice on others and think I can deal with pressure, but wondering if anybody has done this particular one.

It's for 4 nights, plus quantity 2 of the 1 day Disney passes.

Thanks.

I didn't do it.

I though they were being unfair.

they allow pets at the hotels on this property. but I was told no pets in the timeshares.

I though this was unfair.

We are going in April and would like to do that timeshare tour, but when I inquired about it I was that it was not available to Canadians. If we were there we could do a tour, but not pre book, it doesn't make any sense. We stayed at the resort last April and really liked it. I was really disappointed as I like to book our accommodations before we go.

Mr. Bowen9475 here.- We stayed at Calypso Cay in 2002, really liked the resort but felt pressure at the presentation. When we declined to buy, we were pushed off to a higher up, who (coincidently?) used to frequent my home town years earlier. He talked to us like we were old friends. We decided to buy a future week that could be used within 3 years but would have to see the presentation again on our return. In the meantime we bought Disney Vacation Club but since we had already paid for our Calypso Cay week, we used it last November. When we arrived at the presentation, we told the saleswoman that we had bought DVC but would see her presentation as required. She refused to show us around since we were not going to buy and said we would have to sit in the presentation room for 2 hours before she would release us. When asked what we were supposed to do for 2 hours, she said she didn't care. Finally we left and left a note for management at the front desk. When they returned our call we explained what had happened. They said her behavior was unacceptable and would get back to us. They did call us back and said she was brought in to her supervisor for disciplinary action. What happened after that we don't know. But a warning - If you get Johanna as your saleswoman, run-don't walk- from the presentation.

most sales pitches for timeshare are this way - trying to make you feel guilty for not backing.

this people can be down right cruel.

Disney and the marriott don't use this sale pitch.

if you don't want to buy, then you don't have too.
