Calypso Cay Recently?

has anyone stayed here lately? Just wondering how far from Disney? Is the pool with the slide heated? Are there safes in the room? thank

We just had a tour there this past weekend. It's not too far from WDW...just a few minutes. I was pretty turned around down there so I can't give you more specifics....DH is at the grocery store, or I'd ask him! If my memory serves me the pools are heated....I'm not sure about a safe. We just got to see the suites. It seemed really nice....hope you have a great trip.

We just stayed there Oct 31 - Nov 8th and we thought it was great. Yes, the pool with the slide is heated. They do not have "in-room" safes.

We stayed in the Queen suite (2-beds). Refrigerator and microwave. The rooms/hotel was very clean and everyone was very nice. This was our first time to Disney and we would not hesitate to stay in this hotel again. They have a breakfast buffet which is pretty good. (never went hungry) They have a childrens play area with some playground equipment and a mini-golf course, a small game room and an exercise room.

We were about 10-15 minutes from Disney. There is a Publix grocery store right down the road too.

If you have any questions about the hotel, just ask and I will answer them the best I can.

We are thinking of staying here in December and I have a couple of questions:

1. Was the pool comfortably warm? Did it seem like it would be comfortable to swim in during December?

2. Do they have daily maid service with fresh towels each day?

Yes, we had maid service everyday, fresh towels, beds made, etc..


It was fairly warm when we were down there, except for a few nights. One night I thought it was too cold, but there were still a bunch of people swimming, the next though it was considerably warmer (the water). So, I don't really know how to answer your question. Sorry.

Hi. We have reservations for Amerisuites Calypso Cay in early March...is it convenient to BOTH Disney and Universal? We'd really like to try a trip with NO hotel switching! Thanks!

We just stayed at the Amerisuites last month- you will like them very much. We had a king suite - plenty of room and so neat and clean too. Managed to eat their breakfast all but one morning - it was too crowded as we got down there about 9 am. The pools are wonderful and the convenience to the parks is fantastic. Took us 10 at the most to go from door to gate. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
