It depends on who does the pedicure. At one of the salons I've been to, they don't do much to calluses, just a quick once over with the pumice stone. But at the nail place I go to they do a better job on them.
A pedicure can help, but you can help before the pedicure by putting vaseline (or Vicks) on your feet at night, then putting socks over it. Sleep with that on your feet every night for a week and you will see a difference.
I use the pedi egg and it works great! I hate other people touching my feet so don't like to go get them done!
I have used the vasoline overnight thing but only with my hands, I could never sleep if I had socks on!

I'm a Florida girl and live in my flip flops. Unfortunately, my feet really suffer for my habits. I use the vaseline and the pedi egg; they help tremendously!
Where I go they use those brightly colored pumice like Mr. Pumice Pumi Bar (Dollar Tree). They soak the feet, wet one of these bars with soap & water and scrub away. I prefer to do it myself
