Calling the week before check-in

I'm a month out, and our wait-list for one night hasn't come through yet. We've got a lock-off and need a dedicated to keep from having to switch during the rest of our stay. Someone on another forum suggested calling MS after our 7 day wait-list canceled to see if MS could "get the room back" from Disney Travel Company if there is one available. Is this a possibility or just some wishful thinking sent my way? I'm willing to try it in hopes of avoiding moving 5 kids for one night if I won't make a fool out of myself - lol!
 
I think what you are referring to is MS requesting back a villa that had been turned over to cash inventory (due to members making trades out of DVC resorts to Disney Cruise Line, etc & from inventory that MS turned over by a particular date because it was thought villas would have gone unused based on their historical booking data); I have heard of this but I don't know how standard a practice this is, jmho it probably isn't best to count on it but it doesn't hurt to try by calling daily <7 days out.
