I understand that using the phone in the resort rooms to call the front desk just routes you to a call center and it can take eons for your request or needs to be routed to the proper channel. Considering such, what if you need to contact the front desk in a slightly more urgent matter and can't physically walk down to the front desk? Would calling the resort's phone number be helpful? What is a better way to actually get a hold of the front desk?

If you truly need to speak to the front desk, you'll have to find a way to get there in person.

Would calling the resort's phone number be helpful?

No. Those numbers will get you to the same Call Center.

What is a better way to actually get a hold of the front desk?

There isn't one that I know of.

I had an emergency in my room and 911 told me to go to the front desk for emergency equipment. They specifically asked how far I was front the front desk and told me to go myself rather than call and get the instructions rerouted through to the desk

Wow, that's cray!

Thank you both for the info.

I know first hand this experience . Last year we stayed at Coronado Springs and I slipped getting out of the shower. I smacked my face on the floor , breaking my nose. Ouch ! My husband called the front desk (we did not have a car) and it took over 1/2 an hour for someone to come to our room . However , in Disney's defense , the resort manager was so kind. She offered to get us to the hospital and was extremely concerned . She called me from her home over the next few days to check on me. But when it first happen , I was beyond frustrated for the length of time it took them to respond .

I had an issue after check in, early evening. The room I was given was't cleaned. I had a very painful knee (was waiting for knee replacement surg) and couldn't face walking back to desk after being at MK all day. I did use phone in room and asked to be connected to front desk. Within minutes front desk called me.

At BWI I called the Innkeeper's Club and they contacted the desk.

I had to call the front desk from our resort room last month when our flight home was cancelled and we needed to add a couple nights to our stay. The call center rerouted my call to the front desk manager of our resort and he took care of it right away. :)

The same for us when we had car problems, the call center rerouted my call to the front desk.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I've fallen and broken my nose before, too. I know how painful it is.

I'm just wondering why you were trying to get a hold of the front desk, rather than calling a cab, or what services you needed from the front desk. When I broke my nose, I had my husband drive me to the ER ASAP. It was bleeding like crazy and I wasn't sure if I maybe had a concussion or something. I just knew I wanted a doctor to look me over, pronto!

Also, if you're physically able to get to the front desk, I think that's the best way to "get a hold" of them. Long story, but I was dissatisfied with my room at CBR last year. I was 15 weeks pregnant at the time. My husband drove over to the front desk and talked to them, and they changed our room on the spot, no questions asked. Easy peasy.

If you have a 9-1-1 emergency in the room, you should use the landline phone in the room (not your cell phone) and call 9-1-1 directly. My understanding is the Reedy Creek system will automatically know your location (resort and room) and the phone system is also designed to automatically inform the front desk and security. Calling from a cell phone within the resort room will not get the same results, and it may ping off a tower in another county.

If you just want to contact the front desk -- going there in-person is the best option.

I had to call the front desk at 10:30pm when our room at POR had a mildewed, dirty fridge in it. They had a new fridge in the next day while we were at the park. I never had to go speak to anyone in person.
