Calling Texas Disers

We live in Irving, a suburb of Dallas. My family came to Texas in the 1850's and DH's family came to Texas in the 1820's, so, we have deep roots in Texas. I do not plan on ever leaving Texas, but I will spend a large amount of my vacation money in Florida.

Y'all ready for the Houston Fat Stock show?

Unfortunately I am going to see Hilary Duff this year, DD is so excited, and while I like her, she was not my first choice!

No, he went to Delaney. I don't believe he ever got sick while he was there.

I had no idea there was so many of us in the DFW area. Interesting.............

Cool! I grew up in College Station! Went to all the schools, grade school all the way to Texas A&M! Gig 'em! :thumbsup2

Native Texan here! I now live in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas! :yay:

I came to Texas in diapers, and never left. We're in Buda, just south of Austin on I-35. :)

We are in Pflugerville which is just North of Austin. :thumbsup2

I'm here! I live in a suburb just north of Houston, called Spring. :thumbsup2

Hey!! :wave2: :wave2: I'm in Spring also. I moved to the Houston area in 1988.

I wish it would rain here. San Antonio is under stage 1 water restriction and our grass is crunchy!!!
Keep cool, fellow Texans!!

My entire lawn is pretty much dead. The back is definately gone and the front is hovering between crunchy yellow and brown. I think it'll all have to be re-sodded in the fall.

I'm not happy at all. Tomorrow is my watering day and I"m going to drown the front and see if that helps. If I could water daily I think I could save the front but the back is beyond help.

The shady side of my house is still ok.

I'm not happy.

We are trying to save ours some by hand watering but you can only stand there so long waving the hose back and forth before you go nuts!

I told my DH to put the sprinkler on at midnight tonight(our watering day is Tues) so we can get a little extra time in on the back lawn. Even if it means setting the alarm to get up and move it in the middle of the night. Its a dust bowl out there. The dirt flys when the wind blows and the dogs are just filthy from the yard!

I leave for FL tomorrow...can't wait to sink my feet into some GREEN grass!

I've lived in Spring for about 12 years, although I did a short stint as a Floridian a few years back.

Are you east, or west of I-45?

I'm east of I-45, but right off of I-45. My subdivision is in the corner of where I-45 intersects with the Hardy Toll road. After Old Town Spring but before The Woodlands. I've lived in this area since 1993. Where abouts are you?

Lucky you living in Florida, My DD 8 loves the beach but I refuse to take her to Galveston (so nasty and smelly), so for the last 3 years we've gone to Panama City Beach or Destin in the summer.

I think I know which subdivision you're referring to - or least I think I can narrow it down to a few! I sell real estate, so I'm purty familiar with Spring!

I'm on the west side, in a subdivision off of Louetta. Gotta keep the kids in Klein, but once my 16DD graduates, I think we're heading a little farther north.

After living in Destin, it takes some major convincing to get me to Galveston. It worked on Sunday though. We spent the day there and had an okay time. It's just so sticky! You can't even get near the water without feeling it.

Wow, I never realized there were so many Texans here on the DIS.

I live in San Antonio currently and will be transferring to UT Austin next fall :wave2:

Yeah! Welcome to Austin, a bit early :cool1: :wave2:

Am I there yet--why do you like the Klein ISD so much?? We are in the Cy Fair ISD and love it. But, we are thinking of moving. I was looking at HAR.com and finding a few homes I like in the Klein and Spring ISD's( know anything about the Spring ISD??). I think I like the school that we are in right now because I can walk my kids to it. It will be really tough to move away from a hiker/biker school to one where the kids have to take a bus!!!

Hmm...don't think I replied here.

Well, now I am.

Hey from Southside Fort Worth! Woot! :cool1:
