Well team - how we all doing??



Lets have a roll-call and update of what we're all up to!

I am currently working on Christmas Cards but have now more or less decided on my design so it's just a matter of getting production going! LOL

In between, I've done a layout of when we visited Henry Ford and Thomas Edison's winter homes in Fort Myers - which I am really pleased with. I used my first ClubScrap Kit and am really impressed with the quality of their stuff.

I have had a little shopping expedition too - to Lakeside and picked up some stuff I ordered online. Ive got another Album at last which I am keeping just for my kids School and Portrait photo's. Ive also finally got my CM stuff - the stickers and snap pack I am disappointed in, the trimmer is ok but I think I'll go for the cutting system. I really liked the look of that and it'll make life a lot easier with the cards.

No other major purchases that I can think of. I got a Bell punch after all - not as big as I wanted but it'll do.

I am getting a bit more into stamping too - I love embossing, it is just sooooooo cool!

I think that is all about it for now ---- so, what's new with y'all ???

Hiya Janice

I'm in a bit of a slump, but I'm off to the Bonanza later on this afternoon, so I am hoping that will kick start me a little.
I am planning on working on my mum and dad's wedding album, and also some of those CK sketches that are in the magazine (both old one's and new ones). I find the little sketches really helpful when I am stuck (which is quite often!)

I haven't done much shopping lately either, well, except for my sizzix! Which I am really loving.

I'm in a rut, haven't done anything recently, thinking about Christmas cards, disney LOs and an ABC album for my Neice. but my camera has just been returned, so now I should be able to access the Cornwall pics!!

Haven't been able to do hardly any scrapping since the beginning of the summer hols. Helped DD(10yrs) do a few pages. Since the kids have been back at school we have been in the throes of looking at senior schools and preparing for the 11+. Do they have that in your area? Discovered they haven't covered all the necessary material in year 5. Hence 5 hours+ homework every week. Plus shopping trips attempting to find workbooks the teacher suggested.
Thats my excuse. On a better note discovered a craft shop locally, mainly into cardmaking( the shop) and was able to do a2hr corse on embossing. I think its great. Also bought stuff to do eyelets, just got to find the time now. Isn't it easy to get throgh the monies in a craft shop!

I've found a local craft shop too. I've done two 2 hour courses on stamping and advanced stamping. I'm going to do embossing next and then work my way through the others they do.
It's introduced me to liquid applique, glitter, "colouring in" and was great fun.
I've done mostly card making recently, but I expect to start scrapping with a vengence once we get back from WDW. This time I reckon I'll be taking photos with a mind to what layouts I can do with them

Hey Fiona - seeing your fab layout on the group last night, I know you've been busy, but anytime you need a kick-start, just let us know, we'll be happy to oblige! LOL

Hi Theresly - great to see you posting, and well done on the classes, that is great news. Good luck with the School searching - I dont envy you but hope you find one suitable for your children. And...........yep you can spend a pretty penny no mistake! And you dont even have to visit the shops in person! Since moving I've spent more at Scrapbook and Craft sites than ever! LOL

Hi Carole - another Craft Shop discovery! Great news, especially with the courses. I would love to fins somewhere that does that sort of thing here - will have to investigate some more. Liquid Applique's great isnt it? I've been using it on some cards for Christmas - Santa's beard and the fur on his coat! Looks great
I find myself taking photo's now with a whole different perspective - thinking of the scrapping possiblities. Ive even take some photo's recently of a Lighthouse and Lifeboat to specifically go with some photo's of my two, that were taken 20 years ago! LOL. Hope the layout works! LOL

Been out of touch for the last week, busy time.

Still trying to finish my wedding album, it'll be my silver wedding before I finish it

I've done another 3 - 4 layouts using the BH layout sketches. The sketches are a brilliant idea as you don't have to think too much about where you're going to put the photos on the page.

On a different tack, a friend and I have organised a childrens craft day in November and to our surprise all 20 places have gone in under a fortnight. Lets hope they like what they get to make! I'll be busy organising that over the next few weeks.

The childrens craft day is going brilliantly at the moment we're even thinking of doing one for Christmas crafts. So far we have had 22 requests for the 20 places and have started a waiting list.
Craft wise we're making 4 things: a scrapbook type layout framed of their favourite ten things + photo + name (had to get the scrapbooking in lol), a bead bracelet, a funky sitting box creature and a trendy belt. Starting to get all the bits ordered and have booked the hall.

Umm, I didn't actually get the album out of my zag...

I was so busy with classes etc that I only managed to complete 2 personal pages, and they were both pretty simple. I did come home with about 10 class pages that just need photo's adding to them, and I had a brilliant weekend, but I will know next time that it's not a weekend for getting many pages done.

Well I've totally been out of it recently. I'm having so much trouble keeping up with the boards but I'm gong to make a concerted effort in future - I promise!!

Done a lot of card making recently and have discovered the joys of FIMO clay and cutters - I'll explain more when I've done a scan.

Apart from that no scrapping apart from the tag swop I'm in.
