Does anyone know if you finance thru Disney do you need to open a US bank account to take advantage of the automated bank withdrawls? If so, does this mean you have to have an account at an actual US branch or can you just open a US account at your Canadian branch?

We just joined and you have to have an actually bank account in the US. We have a US account at our Canadian bank but they said no we had to have one in the US. So they will take off our dues on our credit card. A pain would have liked the monthly withdrawl too.

Hi Little Belle...Do you know if you finance your DVC purchase thru disney if you can have that come off your credit card monthly?

Yes, the monthly payments can come off a credit card.

Also, you can open up a US bank account through RBC and their RBC Centura Banks. Our home branch was based in Ft. Lauderdale.

I hope this helps

Really we were told that we had to have a bank in the US. Our account in US funds has a home base in the US to with TD. Will check more into this

Thanks

I opened an account at Harris Bank in Chicago. Harris Bank is one of Bank of Montreal's Group of Companies. I also have a US dollar account at BMO which I contribute to every 2 weeks. When I see my Harris Bank account getting low from the DVC payments(I signed up with their Online Banking), I call up BMO Telephone Banking and tell them to transfer funds to my Harris Bank account in Chicago from my US$ account at BMO. Very simple. I would think any the Canadian Banks which own American banks have the same set up.
