Calling Halloween Cruisers!

Okay, this is where I admit that I have never read Lord of the Rings. So I decided that getting a name from there wasn't really too intellegent. So... I became Golden Flash Smurf. Which is very appropriate since all three of the DDs watched the Smurfs.
So do we call DCL Monday morning? And do we have to wait until 11 AM? BTW is Monday the 28th a day at sea? DH asked when I told him we were having the brunch at 11 AM that day.
I just had a great thought. I'll get a copy of Lord of the Rings and read it on the boat.
Bought 7 pairs of slacks in Maine. And luckily I have a good friend who sews. I'm taking them to her this morning to have them shortened. So I'm off. Estelle

Bought two bathing suit coverups last night at Marshall FIelds for $15 each. They are Nautica and were $65 originally. WHich is what I paid for the one Nautica coverup I already own.

GOLDEN FLASH SMURF: I am not sure which day counts as 60 days out--does anyone know how to figure it? Why do we wait until 11 to book excursions? And yes, Monday is a day at sea . Sun--Key West , Tues--Grand Cayman , Wed--Cozumel , Thurs--at sea , Friday--Castaway Cay , Saturday--Port Canaveral . A with the because we are then off to FW and a week at WDW--AHHH--respite from the real world.

Time to start some serious T or T planning. Debbie (between her move preparation and cruise planning) and I will be putting the map together this year. Ginger provided the map that the cruisers used last year as a basis to start this year's planning. If you haven't already, please make sure you let either Debbie or myself know if you are planning to participate, please let us know if your room will be a stop on our map and if you have children, how many will be T or T'ing. Emma: Loved the Princess name thing. My DD5, came up as Cinderella, which thrilled her. That is the Princess costume she picked for Halloween! I guess she didn't need the test to figure out who she was. I came up as Aurora, have to admit I don't even know which Disney movies she was in. Can someone please let me know what movie she is from?

Ginger: Congratulations on the earrings!!!! WOW!!! Do me a favor.... make sure my DH gets GOOD look at them on the cruise! Tell him how much you love them and what a prefect gift they are!!! One of DD's favorite restaurants is Red Lobster. She chose that restaurant to celebrate her 4th Birthday. This year we surprised her with a trip to a Rainforest Café located about ½ hour from our house. The kids really enjoyed it. Don’t think we will do the Brunch at Palo’s, but thank you for the invitation. We still haven’t even pinned down a dinner night for Palo’s.

Ray: Still just have not had time to think about the shirt. I’ll probably E-mail you today; the problem is you gave us too many choices!!! Hope I still have time left to order.

We are going to WDW prior to the cruise and just got a great quote on a hotel using DU. I meant to book the room about a month ago, would get quotes but never got around to making the deposit. Glad we waited, as DU sent us a notification about a week ago that Disney was now discounting rooms for the fall. We got a great rate for Animal Kingdom Lodge. I think it was a savings of about 35% of what I was quoted on the Disney site. I love a good discount!!! I also wanted to give DU some business as they maintain this great web site. Anyone who still hasn't booked WDW resort rooms, or even if you have may want to get a quote using DU.

Im not gonna be on until saturday days after tomorrow cos Im staying at my grandma's for a week. It should be good fun, I might get to see Lucy or Sophie (2 of my cousins), Ill get to see my 2 little cousins Jude(3) and Hope(nearly 1). Im going trampolining (god help me!) and probably shopping. Its just a bit of a shame that my best friend (who lives near my nan, she moved when we were 9 but luckily it was to near my nan's house) isnt gonna be around cos she's one on holiday. Typical!

Yes, Aurora is Sleeping Beauty.
Still confused on when we can call. DH says that the 27th is the 60th day before the cruise. So maybe that is when we start calling. We still haven't locked in what we want to do when. So I guess that Sunday will be chrunch day. Have to decide and get things ready for the phone marathon.
DD in Key West says the weather is lovely and the beach is the greatest. They did have some thunder storms on the way from Tampa to Key West. She said it was a bit scary but they were in a plane. Thunder storms on a ship are different.
Weather here is strange. Very grey and humid. Had a few showers earlier but nothing very heavy. DH is actually washing his car. With the drought restrictions he can only wash on even Saturdays. So rain or no rain the car gets washed.
I am finishing up the laundry from the trip to Maine. That means ironing all the shirts and shorts. So back to the ironing board. Lucky me. Estelle

EMMA--Where does your NAN live?? Hoping you had a good time. How was the trampolining? Did the twins go with you? or was this an EMMA-only visit?

GOLDEN FLASH SMURF (ESTELLE)--I have looked at Hog's Breath a couple times but not seen DD#1. Have you? Is she picking up brochures for you? I got the packet from Shirley (The Perfect Gift) for sending her a postage paid envelope ($3). Some interesting history meshed in with ads and coupons. I have circled things and turned down corners.
I think your DH has it--the 27th would be 60 days out.

Did I tell you that I called FURY CATAMARAN to see if they are the snorkeling excursion Disney uses and they are. They are the ones we went with in 1999 when the 4 night MAGIC was diverted from CC due to hurricane damage on the island. We loved that excursion so wanted to go with them again. The lady said we are better off booking through Disney as with taxes, it would cost more if we booked on our own. I thought that was interesting.

We're going tomorrow and my brothers are coming too. Maybe my post was kinda confusing-my nan and my grandma are the same person. Trampolining is always cool(we do it in PE sometimes) so I think that'll be good fun- I get to laugh at my brothers who've never done it before at any rate!

Emma is 14 also--she posts as "Rose_Greenthumb" and also we have an Ashley who is 12. Her Mom posts as "mdvasquez". The other kids are all younger, older or boys.

If you want a cruise list, post the request here and Debby (Masonpips) can e-mail it to you as an attachment. The list shows who everyone is, staterooms, whether they are staying at the Radisson the night before we leave, whether they are participating in Trick or Treating, etc.

EMMA: You may have gone past Stoke-on-Trent on your way to Lincoln to see your Nan. That is as far north as we got and as close to Liverpool as we got. You live in Liverpool? or near it, right?

Hello Everyone,

Not much going on. Just wanted to check in and let you know we are still here.

Our DS is getting excited about the cruise. Everytime we get in the car he wants to go to "my ship". DH says I am getting DS all excited.

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. Life just gets better & better.

We have been talking about excursions but do not have final ideas yet. Whatever we do will include our DS. That limits some of our choices but that is okay.
