Spending this Saturday cutting out DD's pattern pieces, ironing them and going to look for fabric.

Plus dreaming about the cruise! LOL

We received our video last night. I have to say that the "commerical" on the DCL page is better IMO. The video is ok, but the clip with music/lyrics only gives me chills everytime.

When we booked, we were exactly 4 months out - now it's down to almost 3 - time is flying!

Hi there,
Is there a website for the Captain Marvin"s stingray trip?
I would like to take my kids (5 and 8 years old) on some kind of stingray excursion. Would you guys recommend this one?
Any help on choosing a stingray excursion (I"m not sure how many there are ) would be appreciated!

Thanks

http://www.captainmarvins.com/

I've been emailing with Ruth and she is very nice and helpful. I have not read one bad review of this excursion and liked being able to book this far out (90 some days vs. fighting the 60 day DCL excursion lists).

We chose the 1/2-day (3 hour) tour.

Good luck

Oh!!!! I am so excited DH said we could extend our vacation. I called the Holiday Inn Family Suites yesterday and reserved a King Kids Suite for 2 nights. We stayed there last year for one night and really loved it. YAHOO!!!!YAHOO!!!!!

Estelle I went to Costco this weekend with a friend, guess what they were selling:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc KEY LIME PIES she bought one and shared it. YUMMY!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: I really messed up on my reduction plan this weekend. Oh well, back to it today.

We don't have any Costcos around here. I have been very good with my Key Lime Pie. I have limited myself to one piece per day. Of course the entire family has been checking the amount left to see if Mom has cheated. So I have had to behave.
Emma I think it is a love hate thing. You either love it or hate it. Of course some people just don't care. In this house there is one love one hate and two Key Lime What?
I have decided that for the DH's birthday this Thursday I am going to give him a Carribean ( I know that isn't right but spelling and I parted company a long time ago), tour book. He can take it with us in August and read it on vacation in New England. Of course he is also getting two of the new Country Bear stuffed animals from the Disney Store. One from me and one from his eldest DD (36). I think the Country Bears are his second favorite thing in the Magic Kingdom. If they would make a Tiki Bird movie he would be first in line. The rest of us can't stand them. But guess what makes the top of the must see list everytime we go? Yup the birds. I figure there probably aren't any birds on the Magic. At least not Tiki ones. Estelle

Ok, since Ginger brought it up (lol), I have to ask - who else is on a Disney Diet? ~raising hand~ ME!

It's nice to have enough time to have a goal that I can work towards but is close enough to keep me motivated

NO MORE key lime pie here! LOL

Bet yall wish you were young again! Most the people I know can eat almost anything and not gain a pound! hehehe. I love the tiki birds but no1 else in my family can stand them!

I was doing okay loosing weight until Ginger told us about the Hershey website. Since I've started the Fastbreak diet I've gained 3 pounds. We've gotta stop entering that daily contest. I just love anything chocolate! BTW our Walmart has Key Lime Pies. I'm thinking of buying one this week. Patty :earsgirl:

Oh Dan! You always make me laugh. Decided I could either sulk and pout because I'm missing out on all the fun this year OR I could come on over to your cruise thread and rib you a bit!!!! I know you and all the Halloween cruisers are going to have a GREAT time. Give my best to Scott and PoohNate.

Oh, and we are DEFINITELY going 10/11/03. You should too. I mean, WHY would you wanna go to EuroDisney when you can cruise again with US!?!?! Love and Miss ya bunches - Rosemary

To All Halloween Cruisers - Please forgive this little intrusion of mine into your thread. Wishing you all a great trip!

Patty I am sorry. If it's any comfort to you I have gained 3 pounds back in only 4 short days. I thought I was going to have a good day today and get back on track. I went to the gym and had a good workout. Leaving the gym Ashley tells me she hungry for pizza, what can I say, it was great. Tomorrow is a new day and I will be good.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc make it burn bounce.

I've been trying to get back into that exercise routine but haven't been too successful. We even have a stairstepper and other exercise equipment. My excuses are "I'm too tired after work and it's too hot." "I'll do it tomorrow." I better do something or I won't fit into all those dresses I bought for the cruise. Patty:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I have never been a big diet person. I try to stay pretty much about the same weight. I do understand the Hershey bar thing though. And of course Key Lime pie. I have been trying to up the intake of fluids lately because I have been trying to give up salt other than what I put on in the preparing of the food. This early arrival of 90 plus temps has helped that. Exercise used to be a dirty word around here but I recently started taking a class for those with arthritis in the local Y pool. That is helping a lot. So I am quietly getting ready for the big trip. Right now however I have to go wind a clock and start the laundry. Lucky me. Estelle

My hand is up for the pre-cruise diet too.
Big rain yesterday and cool front with it. It is in the 70's today--I am wearing a sweater and wish I had a blanket on my lap. Definitely exercise weather--or at least walk-around-the-neighborhood weather.

EMMA: Some of us have had to watch the diet and waist-line even when we were young like you. A life-long battle. Our friends who could eat anything when they were teenagers, later hit a stage of life when they needed to watch what they ate and they did not know how to do it. I guess there are pros and cons to both body types.

PATTY: I have been getting the Fastbreak bars and leaving them for my son and his friends. They think I am a pretty neat mom. Ahh--the ease of impressing 20+ year olds.

GINGER: Have fun at Holiday Inn after the cruise. You guys will have a PILE of mail and e-mail to wade through begin gone from home so long--18 days?

ESTELLE: Caribbean book for a B-day gift is a smart idea! And--there are Maccaws in Parrot Cay restaurant--but they do not talk. We love that place. Reminiscent of Tiki birds.

I have not been to the Disney store since before the Country Bear movie promotions started--which two bears are you getting Phil and how do they compare price-wise and look-wise with the ones in the Happy Meals at McDonalds?

ROSEMARY: Chime in whenever you like. Nice to meet you.

Have a nice day all,
Jan :earsgirl:

I was just saying, I know all to well what it's like to feel like you're overweight.

OOP! I guess I should have said adding on to. We will be arriving 2 days earlier to stay at the Holiday Inn. Arriving on the 18th instead of the 20th. Just Bill, Ashley and I, we wanted some time to ourselves before joining his brother and his clan at OKW. WOW! we will be gone for 16 days. We don't count the driving day because we leave so early in the morning 1:00 a.m. and DH drives straight through, only a few quick stops. Last year it took us 17 hours, Bill has done it in less time by himself. You know girls have to make those potty breaks. LOL

I have not had a Fastbreak candy bar yet. It's best that I don't even try them. I haven't got any coupons for awhile I was having them mailed to me they have a longer expiration date, March of next year.

 Hot here today going swimming.

Ginger - Good for you that you haven't tasted one of those candy bars. Once I had one there was no turning back. I'm at one a day, trying to cut down to a half a day. I did exercise last night to work it off plus I am drinking alot of water like Estelle.

I was thinking that it's so funny that we are trying to loose weight just to go on the ship and gain it all back eating all that delicious food!!!! Patty

EMMA: If you understand the weight issue, then you may be one of the lucky ones as you will not have to learn new ways of eating like the people who are skinny and can eat everything when they are kids but cannot when they are adults.

GINGER: Enjoy the pre-family days before OKW.

EVERYONE IN THE WEIGHT-LOSS GROUP: Hang in there! We can do it. :)

PATTY and ESTELLE: The water drinking sounds good on two counts--fake out the stomach and prevent dehydration in this heat.

Hoping you easterners get some cooler days--should be heading east soon. Cooler--as in 70s--but that is still cooler than 95.

Jan :earsgirl:

I think actually its more a case of teenage insecurities that I know most of my friends have about their weight, its not easy growing up looking at stick thin celebrities for role models.

EMMA: I guess that is just it--the fashion designers create clothes for people who are so thin that the rest of us can easily think we are too fat.

To me that is where real maturity comes in--when you can accept the body you were born with and are not be fanatical about trying to be someone you are not--be it your size or your hair color or your need for glasses or your interests or personality or anything.

So--what does that say about those in our group who are trying to lose weight before the cruise?? That we know we want to be able to splurge for that week and we are getting ready now. Or, we know we have splurged over the winter and are trying to get back to where we are comfortable with ourselves before we meet each other in October.

Very thin--like the models--probably none of us will fit that mold.
