Calling Disney-- It shouldn't be so.

I am in EST. First call was at 6:59am and I got the "we are not open yet recording" Hung up and called back immediately at 7:00 am and the lines were busy all day. I finally got through around 5pm. I was calling for a different issue, wouldn't have been so persistent for a lunch ADR. I agree ....shameful.

Wow, very surprised. I called yesterday to make a room reservation and then had to call back today to cancel and re-book because the room category I actually wanted was not available yesterday, but was today. Each time I called (yesterday @ 2:20 p.m., and today at 8:44 a.m.) ~ we are Eastern Time, I waited less than 5 minutes to speak with someone each time.

When you make a room reservation, you get routed to a different system than dining. That is why your wait was only 5 mins.

my phone says I made 145 redials trying to get through to DVC to switch a resort to the Polynesian villas on Wednesday. Yes I started dialing right before 9. It took an hour to finally get through. and from what I heard, DVC actually DID add extra staffing because they knew they would be getting high call volume. This is how it is when you are trying to book something that everybody else wants. It happens EVERY year for the food and wine festival.

Room reservations, dining reservations and DVC reservations are all different systems with different phone lines (thank goodness, imagine having both the Polynesian people and the BOG people calling the same line.

I did go online Wednesday evening and booked a BOG lunch without issues.

Then I'm glad I'm not making dining reservations!!! We usually wing-it and more than likely will eat in Downtown Disney or just grab a snack at our resort.
