I have a two-year old JVC digital video camera (uses mini-DV tapes). It's been acting up lately (claiming condensation or telling me the head needed to be cleaned, right after I had cleaned the heads, etc).
This evening, right after DS smeared spaghetti-os all over his face, hands, arms, legs, and high chair, I figure I'd video tape it (gotta try and win that $10K on AFV!!). But, the video camera only shows vertical color lines in the flip-out screen. I don't get get any picture in the eye-piece. It tapes, but tapes the lines. It does get sound. Old tapes play fine on the camera. I've changed tapes, batteries and cleaned the heads again.
Any thoughts? Is it time for a new camera, already?
P.S. - I did clean off my son before playing with the camera or asking the DIS.
