I have a laptop, and while I am typing, it will randomly jump to a different line or back a few spaces. It is really frustrating. I spend half of my homework time deleting things! It isn't anything I'm doing (that I know of) because I've had this computer a few years and never had any trouble like this. What do you think?

Ok I'm so far from a computer geek, but there is some kind of a mouse in the middle of your keyboard that needs to be disabled. Have no clue how to do it just know the IT guys at my work did it for me. Hopefully someone else will jump in here and give you better directions on how to fix it.

If my touchpad on my laptop is not disabled, I have the same problem.

It's your touchpad. Some computers automatically disable the touchpad when you're typing, some you can go to your settings and select "disable while typing" and some, like my Dell, don't have any options but to get used to it. It was very frustrating until I figured out what the problem was. I'd be in the middle of an email and it would send it. Grrrr.

My daughter tells me there is a way to install a program to disable it, but I don't know where to find it.

Yup, sounds like the old palm-on-the-touchpad problem....
