Calling Cards to call home from Eastern Cruise?

Anyone use a regular "pre-paid calling card" to call the USA from St. Maarten or St. Thomas pay phone's? Or can you just use a regular credit card? In Naussau we could not use a pre-paid card where we were at all. Thanks, Mky

Can't say for sure arout the phone cards but I know DD regularly calls home from St. Thomas on her Cell Phone. On our Cingular plan, the minutes from St. Thomas are counted as part of our regular minutes so no extra charges. I think most of the other carriers Cell phones work from St. Thomas also.

I was on the 12/27/03 New Years Eastern cruise. I had bought a pre-paid phone card before we left. I tried using it at Saint Maarten and had trouble with it. When we got to St. Thomas, I tried calling back home to my family and had no problems with it there. So, my advise to you is if you want to call back to the states, wait till you get to St. Thomas, but that is my opinion. Hope its helps with your question.
